We’ve just traded in our ageing Hyme for the above lovely van but can’t find anyone to fit a bumper and two bar for our bikes. Tried 3 places including Witters and all say there is nothing to attach extenders to (nothing??) having sent photos of the rear end. Help please!

Your weight plate on the van will tell you your max axle loading with 3800 gvw it’s not going to be great🤔sounds like the lightweight chassis??🤔 if I were you I wouldn’t commit to anything until you know the axle limits and weight you intend putting on as you could end up having something not fit for purpose?
Millie 'n us the above is some of the best advice here......don't rush into anything expensive without checking out all the options carefully. Ideally the first thing you should do is take it to the weighbridge to find out how much payload you actually have on your rear axle. And then you can decide what you need to do.

We had to add air suspension and uprate our 9094 to carry even the basic things we wanted to take, which includes 2 ebikes...one around 18kg and one around 25kg (with the batteries removed). I love our Rapido, but there's no escaping the fact that its a heavy van that (in my opinion) shouldn't be sold on the light chassis. I'm pretty certain that the previous owner of ours (who carried a scooter on the back) would have been overloaded.

Why are you adding a tow bar? Is it to tow a trailer with the bikes in or just to attach a bike rack? If its just for a bike rack, then a tow bar is probably overkill for what you need and you could save some weight by going for a chassis mounted rack instead: a chassis-mounted rack is around 25kg, Vs a towbar (30kg?) + bike rack (15kg?)

As said above we have a armitages rear protection bar has we have no inclination to tow which is lighter than a towbar and offers the rear end some protection and allow us to put a bike rack on .
