Hello Campers,

I’ve just joined the forum and need some buying advice.

Having been to a couple of motorhome shows and viewed some different layouts I am looking at motorhomes with the front dinette / rear bunk beds / Luton top and capacity to seat/sleep six. I am based in Madrid and am looking for a newish model that has had some depreciation in price over a new one.

I have found this model. It’s 18 months old. I viewed it last weekend and will view it again tomorrow. It is an ex-rental model with 65,000 kms on it for 40,500 Euros. It comes with a 12 month warranty and includes all taxes and change of owner registration fees

If I decided I wanted to buy this how would I determine it’s value ? This is not a popular vehicle in the UK, it’s mainly popular in Europe and I’m clueless as to what it’s value would be if I were to try haggling with the dealer.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Graham.

That's right. People who haven't lived here do not appreciate the mileage ,or kms, that is piled on most vehicles & is deemed 'normal' .
One insurance agent told me years ago that 35k kms/year was the supposed average where I live for a car.

Given your requirements I think as @rb62 said, a trailer may be something you want to think about if you are limited to 3500kg.

There a couple of new ones, same model as the one you are looking at, in France for around €42000 to €44000.
Might give you an idea of how the rental one compares.
Sounds a bit pricey to me though with that mileage. It’s not going to have had one careful owner that cherished it!

Secondhand vehicle prices always amazed me when I lived in Spain, they were totally bonkers compared with the U.K. .

They still are. Having said that the further you travel northwards the cheaper , & with less kms , they get.

Prices are bonkers ! I brought my RHD car and registered it in Spain. It's been a daily driver the last 3 years. It was definitely worth it.
