How much

I will be ecstatic to see interest rates up to 15% again:giggle:
It depends on inflation. I suspect if interest rates reach 15% inflation could well have reached 20% at least. As we are going to be living off our savings for the rest of our lives I don't fancy losing 5% a year in real terms just to have the pleasure of seeing the numbers increase on the bank statement. I remember the pictures of people with wheelbarrows of money in Germany when they had hyperinflation did they really think great I've got loads of money.

Just seen on auto trader, Carthago whoosh bang 2021, 2,500 miles and yours for only 5 pounds short of £88,000 pounds. I suppose somebody will pay it, obviously still very much a sellers market. Will be hanging on to our A class for a while longer it seems.

Thankfully I haven't seen projections anywhere near that. There would be carnage.

I owned a property, flat in Barnes SW London, at the time and was paying £1,000pcm in mortgage, and market was falling.

Fortunately I got out for my purchase price, because we 6 flat owners having bought the freehold in the meantime.

I stayed out of the market for a few years but got in again and have done well since.

Being single is being nimble.

My point was when the SAVINGS interest rate was last at15% we had nowt saved. Today having a few coppers in savings it would be nice to get a decent return on them...........................(of course apart from other investments that are pretty crap).

I agree with most of what you say Tam but I hadn’t been up North in Scotland since the back end of 2019 and was astounded how many vans are knocking about up there in April/May.
Isle of skye all sites full and free parking really busy, spoke to site owner and he says unusual busy!
