The large print giveth and the small print taketh away.I can understand travel insurers investigating claims to that extent but not so sure breakdown would. I called out breakdown in Germany. There were no questions asked but it was a simple fix. If it was a major breakdown involving hotel costs, hire car repatriation of your motorhome etc then I guess they might investigate ways of getting out of it more thoroughly.
Why it matters whether you have a return journey booked or not I don't understand. There are no trip length restrictions on most breakdown policies - not that that should affect it anyway.
I found that arguing the toss when you're lying in A&E and the insurers have you by the bureaucratic short and curlies isn't optimally conducive to feelings of joy.
So I will now attempt to remain on the right side of their bloody clauses!
