Myself - being minimalist - tend to just pack enough for the time away. For a 10 day trip, or longer, say:
5 T-shirts (it's going to be nice weather obviously)...I wear each T-shirt for 2 days before washing.
Ditto underwear and socks.
2 pairs of jeans/trousers, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 towels, 2 pairs of footwear, 1 sweatshirt (just in case)
1 lightweight and 1 waterproof jacket.
That's about it. I do shower every day.

I recently went on holiday for the first time with an old friend. He could have filled a steamer trunk with all the clothes he insisted on taking. How I found the space for it all I'll never know.

You wear underwear for two days?

Socks for each day
Pants for each day
T shirt every 2nd day, plus a couple extra.
Couple of pairs shorts.

Wife empties the house 🙄🙄

We probably come closer to your friends luggage levels, though we now never actually fill or empty the motorhome of clothing, just wash and return, so we always have enough clothes on board to last for a year I reckon!
The only thing we put in or take out when travelling or returning are shoes and coats!

I'm a very clean person. All over.;)

Mind you, I've improved as I got older. In my younger days nearly everybody wore the same pants for a week and would only put a fresh pair on after the Saturday bath:eek:

I’m with SpeedyDux and cos I’m still working so only get away for two weeks max so I always pack enough underwear and t shirts for 1 per day plus a couple of spares!
When we retire we will be taking the washing machine with us👍
But Mrs Westy says I always take too many clothes 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️👍

We take 4/5 complete sets of clothes, all colour coded👍😀 plus what you set off in.
16 sets of undies and socks.
5/7 week trips.
Wash when you get to the last couple of undies left in the bag.
Wife has more undies than me, ( different undies for different occasions?) but never needed to wear any of hers ! Yet !
Two spare sets of bedding so no washing of them.

We always come back with unworn clothes so too many though that is largely down to packing for various weather scenarios. But definitely 2 weeks worth of underwear!
At the moment we’re working so only go away for 2 weeks but we’re hoping to retire in next couple of years. I think we’ll take the same amount of clothes but we will add washing them into our itinerary.

I use a holdall with
7 T shirts ,
7 vests,
4 pairs of shorts,
7 pairs of pants.
I change daily but not the shorts .
I also have a plastic crate with
7 T shirts ,
7 vests,
4 pairs of shorts,
7 pairs of pants.
1 pair shoes
1 pair jeans in
I swop the T's,vests, pants & shorts after around a month, from crate to holdall

As little as possible doubled.
One lot for slobbing around testing various red wines.
Lot two, cycling gear - which is the larger lot.

Me: one overhead locker
My wife: two overhead lockers, two corner lockers and all the wardrobe 🙁
I thought that was just us😂

Last year she offered me a slot for my best shirt....however the slot didn't last long and the shirt got kicked back out.

Angela takes enough clothes to fill the available space+ 20%

We have one locker each and John has 75% of the wardrobe. I do hide footwear though.
I take 1 'going out' it and my coats in the wardrobe outfit
I use packing cube, it is amazing how much you can get in them😉 2 small for undies, one in locker and one int the bathroom cupboard, 1 each for tops and bottoms, I rarely do skirts/dresses but do have a throw on after the shower dress which is so nice in warm weather.
John has long and short sleeved shirts and several pairs of trousers in the wardrobe, rarely get worn, but he wont leave them at home, he hangs his jeans up too. At home he has 2 wardrobes and I have 1 and a half, and the half is mostly bike and seldom worn stuff.
I do a washing when needed Can anyone explain why I thought 17 Tea towels were essential? wondered why I was running short at home.
Have another over bed locker for thick jumpers in case we freeze at some point.

Easy answer is to much 😂

Being our first extended trip we packed a decent amount, ended up doing laundry once a week so have wore the same stuff all the time 😂😂

Unfortunately as we are often away for up to six months and have a motorbike (well scooter) it means carrying everything from shorts and T shirts to full on arctic gear and waterproofs. :D In a single trip you can have everything from snow to 40c sunshine.

I've been conditioned by decades of travelling around on a motorbike.

1 x waterproof outer layer
1 x jumper / hoodie / sweatshirt type thing
3 x T-shirts
3 x socks (pairs, not 3 individual socks...)
3 x pants
1 x trainers
1 x boots

I've done 5 week trips with that and could have carried on pretty much indefinitely. If travelling in cold weather I'd add a heated gilet on the bike, or diesel heater in the van!

The 'rule of three' for t-shirts, socks and pants is one that you're wearing, one that is in the wash and one that is drying

With the added space in the van I additionally allow myself a set of 'work gear' in case I need to go crawling around under the van for whatever reason and some gloves. I'll also have some nightwear if it's cold.

Less is more. The only stuff you shouldn't use is the stuff you've bought as an emergency and were hoping not to have to use.

Anything else is dead weight that just cost you extra in fuel to carry around. ;)

*edit - obviously if you're doing 6 month trips then things are a bit different - but for just a few weeks that's plenty.

Easier to give up the weekly bath.

Older undies and socks that have reached their use by date

Wear once and bin..no washing

Then way more undies and socks than I need More coats than I need and depending on the trip length time if year for the rest

If it off grid over night dry weather a change of clothes

I'm with my idol Johhny on this one....

# Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt #

So one only needs max of 2 of everything.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
