How Long Do You Wait?

You’ll be able to get most things out there I wouldn’t worry to much.
Good luck and enjoy the experience.(y)

We're flying out to Germany to collect ours so limited on what we can carry.

Thoughts on essentials required for the first day or so or for collection?
We flew out with just hand luggage & travelled back over several days but best to be prepared for it to be longer (spare undies!) in case any problems on collection so they can be rectified before leaving - suggest spending at least 24 hours trying & using everything. Few essentials that spring to mind are sat. nav. for getting back, dashcam, bedding (inflatable camping pillows are handy), small towels & thin fleece throws plus one of our most useful items was one of these https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...ng-watering-can-from-£12-35-delivered.169730/ as ideal for topping up the water tank. Most dealers will let you fill up with water & be able to supply you with toilet chemicals & a bottle of gas. As mentioned before most things can be bought if needed but it's easier to have the basics.

Well not a good day - to say the least!

Train late leaving Newcastle this morning
Gradualy got later the further south we got.

Changed at Peterborough 30 minutes late and missed the connection

Wait. An hour

Arrived. Stansted, big security queues and misread the terminal number.

Ended up in the wrong wing and by the time we got it sorted missed the flight!

Now booked an extra hotel and 2 new flights tomorrow.

Hope it's not an omen for motorhoming.....

It is an omen; a good one. You don't get all that stress when travelling at your own pace in a m/h. Any delay is an opportunity for a quick brew, or another night stargazing with a glass of St Emilion in peace and quiet beside a limpid river............:)

Whenever you get it must be before the deaded Brexit date or the HMRC will be asking for 20% VAT on top of the Foreign VAT at whatever the rate as the free movement might not cover it. Maybe not if there is some kind on customs union for a time..:oops::confused:

Fortunately my dealer has agreed to a net payment excluding German vat
