How do you get the awning light to come on when approaching and exiting

Mine is controlled by the panel. Hold in button for awning light and on off appears. Select as appropriate.

The one on my Motorhome is switched on from the switches above the hab door. It stays on till you turn it off So as soon as it starts to get dark I switch it on then turn it off in the morning

Sounds as though the OP might be thinking it's a PIR fitting, which is unlikely. No doubt an aftermarket PIR or microwave sensor could be retro fitted.

Probably simpler to use the indicator lights if they come on when pressing a remote alarm button

The knaus we had before had one that had a built in PIR and an interior switch that in one position the PIR was active the other the light was permanently on.

Dunno. It just does when I unlock the van. It stays on just about long enough to open the hab door and lower the steps and then plunges you into darkness as you step into the van. This is normally when I realise that the control panel is turned off and the interior light switch is off . . . .

Our switch has 3 settings. Off/PIR/On. Set it to PIR and the light comes on and off as you approach or exit. If your van doesn’t have a switch above the door that does this, then you can’t make it happen.
