How do you clean the roof?

I know it's an embarassing question and i feel a bit daft for asking it, but i've 3m high motorhome with the usual stuff (solar, arial, roof lights etc). I was happily up a step ladder having a go at some of the nooks and crannies and looked at my filthy roof.
I can't climb on it. What do others do?

I cop out and once a year take it to the valeter.

I use a ladder leaning against side of 3m van. The van is protected by putting a Crock on each ladder end that rests against the van.
A big bucket of hot car shampoo water and a mop.

Usually get it all wet with hosepipe first. After all dirt gone, hose off and dry with microfibre cloths.

Job for a windfree, summer’s day. Even so, a PIA job.

I got one of them expanding ladders and a long brush with water, I think it's probably important to not use any chemicals or soaps.
