I get Freeview TV via a status aerial.
I get BT Sport's and Amazon by "casting" from my phone to the TV.
How do you get Sky Sports ?

No idea what that means but I couldn't cast the Now TV app to my motorhome TV.
I can cast the app to my house TV so I assume it can only be cast via WiFi ?
So I need WiFi in the van to be able to ?

Sorry. A typo I missed until I could no longer fix it didn’t help

Should’ve been
That What I Said
In Post #11

(That you get six devices and you can manage them at https://help.nowtv.com/article/managing-my-devices )
To cast from your tablet or smartphone that’ll use the host device’s own private WiFi.

Fire TV Sticks & the related Roku devices need WiFi
When you’re travelling that’ll typically be via a smartphone hotspot or MIFI

So could I use a Fire Stick, with the appropriate channels on it, using my phone as a hotspot, rather than getting MIFI ?

Sky & Amazon became friends in the recent past and now you can get the Now TV app on a Fire TV Stick (without side loading yy ).

I like the Fire TV Stick.
For me it’s a better solution that smartphone streaming.

Don’t you need a VPN if you are abroad when trying to use Skygo?
I might be mistaken!

So get a Fire Stick and use my phone mobile data as the internet connection?

You could but from your 1st post

a fire tv stick would be an extra step. Now TV could be an app on your phone.
What would you like to achieve?

I want to be able to watch Premier League football and F1 on Sky Sports in the van the same as I do at home.

You can’t side load the sky go app to firestick for some reason I’ve tried several times without success🤔

And you’ve got the “NOW Sky Sports Membership” or higher package?
I’d check how good an experience you get from your existing smart phone by "casting" from the phone to the TV before buying new kit.

Yes I have Now Sky Sports at home but I can't seem to cast that to my van TV.
I can however cast BT Sport and Amazon, which I pay for at home, to the van TV.

That's what I said in post #18 and #24
Just seemed strange that I can cast BT Sport and Amazon without WiFi but not Now TV.
Does a Fire stick need WiFi or will it work with my phone internet ?
As you can probably tell I know nothing about this stuff.

The issue is as Andacami mentioned - Sky block secondary streaming.
So the Fire TV Stick type device {with the Now app!!} is needed to get a direct steam to the TV.

The Fire TV Stick needs WiFi.
That can be from a hotspot you’ve setup on your phone
Or via a Motorhome MIFI box.

I use a Huawei MIFI router in preference to a phone hotspot for the convenience of not having mrskevenh walk off with the “internet” or vice versa. And having a single point to manage the connected devices, etc.
Mifi used to perform better than a phone but newer phones may be better now.

So if I've got this right I can use a Fire Stick with Now TV loaded on it and use my phone as a hotspot to provide internet signal.
I already have a Fire Stick at home, with amongst other things, Amazon on it as they sometimes show a months premier league football.
How do I put Now TV and BT Sport on my Fire Stick ?
If I can do that I can just use the Fire Stick.

That’s general help on adding apps to a fire tv stick.
Anything specific from me would be later.
From earlier checks the Now app should be an easy find and install. yy

Add both at home before going away

kevenh just to let you know that I followed your links and downloaded NOW TV and BT Sport onto my Fire Stick.
Unplugged my router, used my phone as a hotspot and was able to watch both.
Thanks for the links and advice 👍

If you subscribe to sky then you can download the Sky go app onto an xbox one. (Think it works on some other consoles but do your research first).
Then just connect your xbox to tv via hdmi and Internet and log into sky go app.

If you have Sky Go, a way of getting it onto your tv is through a PlayStation.
But then you obviously need a PlayStation but it is a way of doing it.

I get Sky Sports from Now TV at home.
I have downloaded the Now TV app onto a Fire Stick and using my phone as a hotspot can now get Sky Sports via the Now TV app in the van.
