How dirty is yours?

I.. Err. Are... Is it.. Oh dear. Sorry.. I think I'm either speechless or struck dumb with sheer envy. :(
I can assure you there is nothing to be envious about, some things sound exotic or made to sound exotic through marketing but really it’s another hot place with hot beaches, sometimes it’s nice to get up a hill with wind, rain and fresh air with food you can relate to ?

That looks spotless compared to hours, muddy campsite and rain over the last few days then down the single track road to the storage, we bring it home to clean it and it doesn't look a lot better when we get it back unless it is a very dry day.

I must say up north I was going through some HUGE puddles like never before on main roads, some were across the whole road, some halfway in from the left kerb which could drag you over and forcing you to move out to pass it, mind you the rain was relentless, not the best experience in a brand new van!

I get ours done about twice a year, once properly when a mobile valeter comes round to me and does a good job including waxing, and again when a neighbour who does it part time gives it good wash.. both time including the roof.
I used to do it myself quite often ( there are a lot of trees that is is parked under ) but as I got older I decided it was proly better if I got someone else to do it.
Mind you, when I am down in Spain I do give it a bit of a spruce up :-)

It’s the camera I think, it really is filthy, there is mud both sides of the mud flaps and on the alloy wheels as well ? I will try and get some dirty pictures of her tomorrow ?
Don't bother on my behalf, I can go and look at my car or bike to see proper dirty.
I've got dirtier socks than that van.
Maybe I need a Valeter.

What do you expect? Ours gets washed once a year wether it needs it or not!
Quite. The dirtier it gets, the less it's noticeable.
I'm so pleased that ashtrays are no longer fitted these days as I got fed up with changing my vehicles after each packet of fags.

Best to check for leaks now before you go back to the dealer with the bed fix.

Oh dear

?. I could not have had a better 3 days than what I have had with all that rain to check for leaks, the new vans now are totally sealed like a Tupperware box, so the only way for anything to get in is via joints, trust me I have checked every one and all fine, however I won’t let my guard down and will be constantly checking ?

Swift Smart construction:
SMART is based on proven technology and provides a Strong timber-less body frame with Modern desirable looks and a leading Aerodynamic shape that is Resilient to moisture, all wrapped up in a Motorhome that has undergone the most comprehensive Testing.

The new Strong timberless body frame uses 'PURe', a tough, hard polyurethane based product that is totally impervious to water and has been proven through use. The construction method prevents the transfer of moisture from the 5000 Series marine grade aluminium sidewalls to the wall board inside, making the motorhome highly Resilient to moisture.

All fixings, including windows and doors are made into the 'PURe' frame which is varied in density in different areas to suit the strength required. Already lighter than timber and with this density tuning it provides a weight saving without any loss in strength.
A special waterproof sealant is used around fixing screws which are engineered so that they do not go all the way through the 'PURe' frame. The 'PURe' material being totally impervious to water and having no veins means there is no passage for water from the outer skin to the inner wallboard, combating moisture ingress.

Everything including the insulating HD polystyrene insulation core is CNC (computer numerically controlled) cut to provide accuracy and consistency time after time to give a high quality engineered product.
The new bodyshell has been through extensive safety and durability Testing at Millbrook and through cold chamber Testing down to minus 15 degrees centigrade and beyond. This puts prototypes through conditions most products will never have to experience in a life time; all part of the Swift Ethos to deliver the best products which are both safe to use and fit for purpose providing confidence for customers.

Dunno, but I've heard lottory winners do this a lot
I really don’t understand some people, some choose to put all their eggs in one basket and buy a very expensive Motorhome, others prefer to also enjoy other things in life so have to budget accordingly, we are all different but jealousy and envy is awful, everyone should just get on and learn from each other, if I saw somebody with something I liked the look of I would be interested to know where and how they got it, communication is the key, if people spent less time with green eyed envy they may learn more, I can assure you I am at then lower end of what some people can afford and do, no matter how well off you think younger there are always bigger fish out there, and no matter how poor you are there are people much poorer. Live and let live and get over the jealous nonsense, you never know you may just learn something ?

Not really as we are on our boat most weekends, we normally spend Christmas in Barbados but this year we are in bloody Walsall, don’t ask it’s a family thing ? Anyway I was thinking of taking her up there and after the family Christmas do a few days around Cheddar area, any advice appreciated, we would then either spend New Year on our boat or if we found a site with a great New Year party go there, I did look but most seem to only be for mobile homes not motorhomes or caravans, they seem to shut down for that. We can’t do next Easter as we are in Barbados so that’s it before France all next summer. Last Christmas I thought I had avoided Barbados but we ended up in the bloody Bahamas, then to make matters worse went to the Cayman Islands for a New Years party, we then had the Easter in Barbados this year, it’s always bloody hot places ?. Mind you the choice between Christmas in Walsall with relatives? hmmm give me the heat any day ?
Barbados?? Very nice, I hear Sandy Lane there is very nice at christmas?

Christmas out there is mad, New Year just as mad, all rip off prices, go out of main holiday times and there are great bargains, there are lovely hotels on the west coast where we always go, it has a village type atmosphere with beach bars, there are restaurants that would do your whole budget in one sitting but you know what I prefer the happy hour bars including places like Zaccios, really interesting people to chat and drink with, beautiful sunsets. Surfside is a bit down market now, it’s just along from Zaccios, Sunday lunch at Lone Star would be a treat, many famous faces there, The Cliff is fantastic but so is your bill, do it once for the experience then explore elsewhere ?

Took this pic from Zaccios bar

I guess my last one didn’t go out in rain or dirt or in fact at all so was always immaculate, just shocked to see a dirty van and filthy tyres, once I get home will get the valet guys round and then tuck her away until July for her French trip ?

Tuck her away until July and you've just bought it, surely not

Personally I think it’s a right off.

That mud/dirt is so ingrained that you’ll never be able to remedy the situation.

I’m afraid you have no option but to dispose of your vehicle immediately.

And as your driving style has obviously shown, your personal choice of routes and stops will always mean that whatever Motorhome you choose to have, the vehicle will be terminally affected by horrendous and incurable dirt.

It is thus with profound sadness that I have to tell you that your motorhoming days are over ? and you will also need to cancel your subscription to MotorhomeFun.

Not washed ours this year. Almost did twice but then the realisation that I am always doing 800 miles the next time it goes off the drive , make me not bother. Do the glass and clean out the inside ,that's me.
