Well I took the ultimate Offgrid overlander to the weighbridge (work) this morning and I got the shock of my life, it’s put weight on, how did that happen!! It’s 4700kg without anyone in it, no scooter, no dog, no beer no washing machine!! Where’s all this extra weight come from?? I’m gonna have to stop visiting Oxfordshire
So it got me thinking, have we all been brainwashed and lithium is no lighter than gels?
Does anyone know of a retrofit tag axle kit for my Carthago

Mrs Westy and the dog will either have to stay at home or lose a few pounds

Why am I not surprised.

Lithium half the weight for twice the useable power of wet LA, so effectively a quarter of the weight. With Gels you get more use a Le power than LA so lithium effectively about 40% of the weight.

Some people in Yorkshire just go into stupid mode when they fit it, can't resist a bargain.

That 3rd battery only added 25kg so what other junk are carrying?
You need to go to the gym son, also no beer and halve your food intake. Try and get down to Mrs Westys weight.

My thinking is to build a small water tanker to tug along. Possibly about 300L of water.

Maybe you could tug a trailer with heavy essentials?

Unfortunately after I’d offloaded it at your place, I think all the weight is Vals cooking/kitchen crap

The cable weight is like a hidden tax. Our apprentice would attest to that when he has to unpack 100m reels of 50mm2 cable.
