I wonder if there are many countries that you could actually legally fly one in and what the cost of getting and maintaining a licence would be?
I flew gliders and a motor glider for years the great thing being that theres no engine to fail (or in the case of the motor glider if it does you have a glider wing) in one of these at say 200' a malfunction won't leave time to use the parachute and your left in a pretty expensive mix between a brick and a coffin!

I notice they play loud music over it so you can't hear how loud they actually are.

I do not look forward to the days of the flying car. It is bad enough with loud car engines at the moment without those things in the air as well.

I see these getting better. They'll get more and more performant. But I think they'll be limited to sport and recreation use in very limited areas and events. They are never going to be suitable for general transport use. They need dedicated and controlled landing areas that take up tons of room, they are loud and they use a lot of energy. Functionally, they end up being no different from a helicopter, just they're mechanically a bit less complex.

I'm dubious that drones will even be useful for general parcel deliveries. Although stuff like medical drops are looking like a good application, but that's because they have landing/drop zones, which aren't practical for the majority of parcel deliveries.

I don't think you could fly it legally on a private estate!

Having flown my own helicopter for a few years a while back , its limited usability makes you realise these will be a niche toy for a few

They look fun but at over £100k a niche toy for some as already said. With 20 mins flying time I think ill hang onto my Honda Vision for now.

However I can see a use for them. I think some mountain rescue teams were experimenting with jet packs. I can see this being useful for getting a paramedic quickly to a remote area. Another tool in the mountain rescue shed perhaps.

I believe they have been using similar size drone in Ukraine as casualty evacuation vehicles.

According to their website in America at least you don't need any kind of licence to fly one. I suspect that will be the appeal. Takes five minutes to learn the ropes by all accounts. They reckon they can fly up to 1500ft but all the videos I have seen they are just a few feet off the ground. Not sure I would want to go very high on one.
