Hello everyone!
Totally new here and hoping someone might have an idea on how to do this in an aesthetic and efficient manner.

We will be spending a whole month in the most northern parts of Norway, so literally no sunsets. Blocking this light is crucial to get some good night's rest.

Any ideas what I could do? The light is coming from both the blinds and from the ceiling joint. We also have two toddlers that very badly need their 2 hour nap during the day, and when it is very sunny outside this light leak literally lights up the bedroom completely.

Thank you for any ideas and help!

If this is jot the right forum, please advise on where should I post a question like this.

Above the blind put a cloth/towel or a piece of cardboard
not sure why the light is coming in from around the frame though

You need to remember these provide ventilation even when closed.

Also after a couple of days sleeping on the he light, you will have no problems at all dropping off to sleep. The secret for the kids is to wear them out during the day so they sleep better at night. If they nap during the day, the light level will not affect them after the first day.

I had kids sleeping in bright sunlight let alone the midnight sun which is not that bright as it's so low in the sky. I have also had kids drop off in noisy environments,, and even had one performer drop off when sat on stage for a fiver minute scene under the full glare of multiple profile spots, overhead Fresnels and loud music. Kids will sleep anywhere and through almost any noise if conditioned to it.

I suspect you may be overthinking this.

I use a very lightweight piece of silver screen type material, up above the pull across blind in ours. Our blind has gone patchy and so lets light in. I just used two small velcro dots to secure the piece of material at one side so that it remains in place. I think doing this would also help prevent the light seepage around the edge of the frame.

I sometimes use a sleep mask at home, when the sun comes up in the morning it often wakes me up, the sleep mask sometimes gives me an extra hour or two ....

(Thats why I often post at 4/5 am as I try to tire myself out)

May I say to get to sleep you need to produce melatonin, this is only produced when it is dark, so many people will ot be able to 'get used to it being light' i am one but can wear a blackout eyemask,
Maybe get a tent pd in black out material and set that up in the childrens sleeping area adults can wear masks.
