Hook up Cables.

Cables try to remember their original coiled form. You don't need exceptional skill or sensitivity to help them retain that memory. Coiling them over your elbow is one way to cause lots of kinks especially as eventually the individual wires shift within the outer sheath. Once that has happened no amount of warming will retrain your cable.:D

I like the combination of wire, water and electricity, a match made in heaven, or one way to get there!

I did say I would let you know how warming up my hook up lead went. I left it hanging over a radiator all weekend. The radiator wasn’t on permanently. Just re wound it half an hour ago. It is much better, far fewer kinks if any.
My conclusion is this works so thanks very much for the tip.

ha, remarkably we had exactly the same 2 weeks ago!, same site! had cut our 25 m into a 10 and 15, and put the join in one of them waterproof thingies wotsists, still got told to either move to another pitch with closer bollard, which there wasnt, or unplug it!!!

fortunately our neighbour swapped his with ours for the last day.

what reason did they give you?

It's the CAMC policy - see https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/useful-information/hooking-up-to-the-mains/
Scroll down to the section headed Site socket outlet
They say that cables should be 25m maximum, each core of 2.5mm squared section.

"Shorter cables may not reach from the bollard to your van on some sites and extra connector cables to add length are not permitted."

The Camping and Caravanning club are more lenient on inline connectors:
https://www.campingandcaravanningcl...p/datasheets/electricity-campers-caravanners/
"The maximum cable length of 25 metres should ensure it can reach the supply bollard at most sites in the UK. Always uncoil the supply cable fully to avoid it overheating on a cable reel. The use of a second cable is not recommended, but if it is used it must be fitted with the same BS EN 60309-2 standard plug and connector. The connection between the two cables should be raised off the ground by the use of a propriety joining cover. Taped cable joints and ordinary 13A household plugs and sockets must not be used under any circumstances. The cable is normally coloured orange so that it is visible and avoids being damaged by grass cutting and other activities on site."
