Hook up and starting engine?

Only had the motorhome 4 weeks, its an older model, a Swift Ace Firenze, the control panel is this one in pic.
I have looked on youtube etc, someone says the cab icon button is for emergencies only to replace leisure battery source, someone else said you can charge the vehicle battery from this button?
I can check vehicle and battery voltage readings on the panel, but vehicle battery shows no change on EHU

Unusual Elektroblock are normally OK with it.
Only problem I had was breaking the inlet socket when I drove away with it plugged in.
First trip last wknd, what I did was put the drivers sun visor down with a note on the back to remind me. 👍

Thanks all, now off to post in the Solar Panel section :giggle:

I posted about this a few years ago a lot said on here it was fine to do but on our Hymer S820 2004 it knackered the charger and Electroblock.

I might have been one of those who suggested it would be OK having done it a few times on my S800 🤔🙄

I wonder if your problem is the reason they now use Reich control systems not Electrobloc ? I presumed mine was EB for our first few years of ownership 🤔🙄 till it needed fixing :whistle2: but not due to leaving hook up in 😁
