I drive my Honda into the Carthago garage. I'm too old to push it in :ROFLMAO:

I have a SYM HD 200. It’s 115 kgs and is brilliant two up. I use it on a towball scooter rack, it’s been all over Europe without any issues, better in a garage as well.
Phil
What sort of towball scooter rack is it?

We have a towbar already fitted to our MH but it has a sticker on it that says max vertical load 100kgs . :-(

The tow ball in your pictures is nothing like ours. I don’t think it would work with our rack. I will send you some pictures of ours tomorrow so you can see.

thinking of putting
Hi all
I am after a scooter to put in the garage of the MH as I do not want to tow anything

I am thinking of either a honda sh125 or sh300 I would ideally like the 125 for lightness but I am worried it will struggle with 2 larger people on it about 30 stone combined ?

Has anyone got either of these models and can comment on what they are like especially performance 2 up but other pros and cons too

Hello LanerBoy

Just got a Elddis CV20 on order and got my choice of scooter down to SH125 or SH300 hence my interest in this thread. My worry is also whether my wife and I (at a combined weight of 27 stone) can get up a Spanish coastal hill on a SH 125 but also whether it will sit nicely on a rear rack without the need for a trailer. Oh the trials and tribulations of retirement !

Anyone used that trailer with the two small wheels ? Think it is called an easy tow

Hi
Where are you based we are in Buton upon Trent in Staffordshire, you are welcome to come and try mine with both of you on it I find it perfect no problems at all with 2 people on it

That’s really a kind offer, thanks. I may take you up on that but we are up near Chester so a little way to get there. I was hoping my local Honda may do an extended test ride.

I fancy the Mode version tbh. Nice and cheap ! And low saddle for my wife to cock her leg over ?

The 125 is 12bhp iirc. Our 110cc scooter is 8bhp and while it's OK on the flat (55mph+) up hills are embarrassing, if it's a steep hill you're looking at 20mph.

The 125 is half as powerful again so should be reasonable up hills. Given it's lighter and a lot cheaper than the 300 it's the one I'd go for ?

I think the key element to the performance of the bike is how much weight the bike is carrying and the 27 stone of our combined weight isn’t exactly ideal I know. We plan to do the Spanish costas like the Costa Brava and some of the local coastal hills are 30%+ so would be happy just to get up there at 15mph !

One of the most frustrating features is when you pull out of a junction up hill, you need the thing to GO! and it's dragging it's arse ?

Our 125cc will do 60mph on the flat and 40-45mph on a good hill 2 up i am so glad i bought the sh125

You don’t have to answer this !

What is you and your partners combined weight ? ?

SH 125 — Honda - yes Honda not some Chinese crap at half the price ! It does what it says on the tin and that’s climbing hills no problem even with 28 stone on board ,it flies up.

Still can t decide between the Honda Sh300 which will require a trailer and the Honda Sh125 Mode that I can put on a rack

Choosing my campervan, or indeed my home was an easier choice ! ?

help !

SH125

Hope that helped ??

If you're getting a trailer you might as well get a proper bike. KTM Duke 890 available end of Feb ?

thanks I am veering towards the Honda Sh125 Mode too @ 116kg

As you said in a previous post, starting off on a hill on a 125 isn’t easy but lateral thinking has made me decide that I wouldn’t go up the hill I would go down the hill !

easy !

Ours is a 110cc though. It's down 4hp on the 125 ?
