Home tv - sound bar recommendation

I have (the now discontinued) Sonos Playback and it's an impressive soundstage...
...but, much improved by the addition of a Sonos sub (and 2 Play Ones for surround sound) All wireless.
Rumours of an imminent "budget" sub release to beef up the Beam.
We have the same set up absolutely brilliant but at a cost.

Lenny HB and Jimbo50, now maybe I’ve started with the wrong question! Went to John Lewis and looked at the Sony, Samsung and LG Oleds, having looked at the reviews was leaning towards the Samsung but do you think the Lg is better? I know it’s about £500 cheaper.

we currently have a 6 year old Sony, so any oled will be much better!
I think I paid around £400 for LG soundbar to sit under LG Oled TV. To be honest its ok but if it gets too bassy then theres loads of vibration. Took it back to the retailer they sent it back for a repair but to be honest not much difference!
Had an old Bose sound system before (not speciffically designed for TV) with two small speakers and subbwoofer box. Really good and now I wish I hadn't given it to my son!!😁.

I think you get what you pay for with these things and I think I should have maybe paid more!

I have a new Avtex Sound Bar which is quite good, and the LG 55" has Dolby Surround and stuff, but you can't beat a decent amp through a pair of Kef Concorde floor standing speakers!

On our main TV I have a Samsung soundbar which is fantastic. I was unhappy with the sound from our bedroom TV but didn’t want a big soundbar + subwoofer in the bedroom so I use a pair of Apple HomePod Mini’s linked as a stereo pair via an Apple TV, sounds just great.

First off -I’m not into TVs! So excuse the amateur ramblings.

We inherited a 36” JVC telly, seemed better than our old one so I swapped it over - the JVC one could be connected to t’interweb for streaming.

But - sound was lousy. So I bought a JVC soundbar to match, and the sound is very good. But can I make the “intelligent” digital link between the 2 work reliably? Can I hell. I’ve given up now and put an optical cable on to connect them, a pain though as it means 2 remotes and always having the telly with the mute symbol on the screen!

Fundamentally any soundboard, even a cheapie no brand one, will improve the sound of even the most premium flats reen TV.

been a few weeks I know but the sonos bars been great I have to admit, to the point I had to upgrade my old sony 46" telly to a nice 65"LG! Its sooooooo nice!!!

I bought the Sony 65" OLED. Same screen as LG of course because they make it BUT the Sony processor is far superior. The screen is thicker on the SONY because the speakers are built in behind it and the sound travels around with the action. I don't feel any need for a sounbar and I'm glad I paid for a Sony again.

"Better" seems subjective according to online reviews, plus of course there's a grand difference in price, that's a lot of beer :-)

We have a Samsung and we got a Samsung sound bar and it works with the TV remote so no need for another remote unless you want to use the bluetooth feature to listen to your phone etc.
