I am trying to get a vehicle inspection from either RAC or AA, but when i put in my registration, they say, that it wont accept the vehicle

Is this because if is over 20 years old ? If so, where do i go for an inspection on dollie, as my solicitor is requesting this from me ?
thanks tribe

From RAC:

There is no maximum age on the vehicles we will inspect with the purchase of our comprehensive or advanced vehicle inspections.

Maybe give them a call?

if this is actually from the rac, when i put in the registration of the vehicle, it was rejected online

Have you spaced the numbers/letters correctly and used capitals.

Some sites dont covert to the required format.

Just a thought :unsure::giggle:

Yes, taken from the RAC website
Try and give them a call
However, they don't provide a basic inspection on vehicles over 10 years, so you may need their comprehensive one

But that's why we have NHS 24 in the A and E department of most hospitals.
Even GP's are allowed a day off.
As for Breaking down on a BH, I would suspect that the RAC, AA, Green Flag etc are probably working flat out today, with dedicated contact numbers for such an event.
What you are seeking is a service from the
" back office" Staff of such organisations which in all fairness is an office based product, usually provided around UK office hours and holidays, and whom again are entitled to a holiday like the rest of us.
All will be open in the Morning again when it should be business as usual.

Probably so. :giggle:
I don't envy those businesses who close for bank hols such as dentists and doctors, as phones will be a mare for them in the 'morrow (I used to work in the latter and you could guarantee a sore throat and headache after all the calls stop coming through, needing to see the Doc yourself!)

Thank you for the above, I'm a medic, so quite understand yr strong sentiments, but I do work wknds if need be in emergencies. Yes I'm probably contacting the closed down lines for AA n RAC TOO. so I'll try again on Tuesday. But I will say my patients can contact me 7 days per week, either on net phone whats app or my website. So no days off for Me , I'm afraid self employed ppl do not have entitlement .

From a previous thread I think that sweet caroline is trying to reject her motorhome as not fit for purpose.
iirc I think she had loads of problems with the van and the dealer.
Yr right. But dealership has now instructed solicitors to fight their case. When I wanted to do it amicably, but obviously their fighting their corner jow, n reluctant to give my money back

Hi, apologies at my curiosity, but the solicitor 🤷🏼‍♂️
Dealership after 6 weeks of communication then decided to fight me with their solicitor. I've no option now but to do the sane, which is something I DID NOT WANT TO DO stress on me as a single lady is horrendous. Ive now got to get a comprehensive AA inspection, n present this to my solicitor

Have you got legal cover on your house or vehicle insurance?

I believe AA inspection engineers use the nearest to where the van is based

I would still use a reputable garage.

They could collect the vehicle and drive it.
Its still your vehicle so the dealer would have to release it.

A road test would be ideal as if a mechanic struggles to engage the gears the dealer stands no chance.

Yes house insurance solicitors will take on the case Free of Charge. Albeit the stress is causing me 🤒 so I'm worried about taking it any further. Albeit the solicitor states I have a very good case.
You stick in there, it'll ALL be worth it in the end!! They have sold you a 'not fit for purpose' vehicle, and if you're covered under house insurance, you bloomin go for it
It will all work out in the end....xx

Well I do hope you get it all sorted asap, as I can imagine the stress and pressure you’re under. Sending hugs and support

Garage has probably got their solicitor involved hoping you will back down and go away. Once your solicitor gets involved hopefully it will them backing down as it will end up costing them a fortune.

Good luck and don't give up its a great hobby.

I doubt the dealer will allow an RAC or AA inspection on your behalf now that solicitors are involved. And I wouldn't post much info on here either in case the dealer is looking in, it is an open forum.

Sadly solicitor Only wants a national recognised company to do comprehensive inspection,as if it does go to court, then courts Only recognise this sort. But reaaaly appreciate yr input though.thank you
