Depends what you want. Stunning view of the city, but €17. Hot bread at reception, bus outside to/from city centre. Full facilities, but probably not needed if you are just arriving.

Hoping to do this Trip next year, maybe from Calais if crossing a lot cheaper.
Will return from Roscoff as Plymouth is not far from home

I see from your profile you’ll be travelling with a dog , join the Brittany Ferries club ,book a dog friendly cabin ,costs more but saves a load of driving (no m25)
We travel from South Wales and this is our route of choice
