I sold my beautiful sports car today so I can but a camper van
I’m 58 single and semi retired so time to go travelling and exploring
I know absolutely nothing about campers so will be lurking in this forum for a good while.
I’m looking to buy a 2 berth van around Christmas early new year as I’m hoping to find a great deal
My budget is 60/80k maybe a bit more for the right van any advice would be great

Welcome.

Read the info for buyers guide above.

I'll say what I always advise;

1) Layout
2) Layout
3) Layout

As for optional extras - you can always add what you really want later - solar, batteries, inverters, heaters etc....

And budget? 60-80K.
Spend £60K and have more fun with the £20K extra on other things (like upgrades if needed).

You have a bigger budget than most people, you do not have to use all of it for what may be your 'first' van. Read the Buyers Guide.

Take your time, go to as many motorhome dealers as you can ( without your wallet) ! Forget your budget for the moment, just sit in as many vans as you can imagining what you would do in it, making breakfast, sorting out clothes storage, then think about making a meal including where you would put pand and plates whole serving. Then using the toilet, do not be afraid to sit on it, get in the shower . Now get into the bed, can you reach a reading light?

Layout, layout, layout.
Will it fit on your drive?
Do you have the licence to drive it.
Learn all about payload.

Good luck, the right van is out there.
