An Egret is a White Heron. It's an Egret....
Hi houdiniIāve had that happen. Does it give you a choice of sizes?
The photo is of a Great Egret (Ardea alba), which is part of the subfamily of herons. This subfamily includes cattle Egrets and the increasingly seen in the UK, Little Egret. There are a pair of egrets that fly about and settle in the pond infront of me at work every day. (amongst lots of other birds) I thought they were heron too. But no theyāre egrets, so says Nick whoās bird mad.
The water level is right down at the moment so fingers crossed it wonāt effect all the breeding that happens.
