here is the plan, can anything foreseen go wrong ?

Just come across this thread and noted I didnt update the fridge issue on here.

The fridge went into a Thetford authorised workshop in Chichester. They played with it once but that didnt work so then, in discussion with the dealer (alan kerr) the issue was if it is a faulty fridge then that would be Thetfords issue, if it were the baffle (or lack of one) then that was Alan Kerrs issue.
Dealer spoke with Alan Kerr who would cover the cost of the repair if it were the baffle.
There was never a baffle in there !
This is how it came from the factory and not something alan kerr forgot about (to clarify)

In terms of the lithium battery. All good and nothing to complain about.

Not quite understanding. Are you saying that there was no baffle and this was the cause of the problem? If so, why is this Alan Kerr's problem and not Thetford. Is the baffle not part of the fridge?

I was told this was an issue with some Thetford fridges by the Thetford qualified technician I saw in Spain but when I told my dealer he didn't take any notice. I still wonder whether that actually was the issue.

Read again he is not blaming Alan Kerr.
But its up to them to sort as the contract is with the dealer.

I am presuming here.

The fridge is supplied by Thetford and put in by Roller Team. The baffle would have been supplied but not fitted at the factory.

Sort of like if the fridge was sent through the post and the door handle was not affixed, if there was no door handle supplied then that would be Thetfords issue but if it was forgotten to be put on the dealers issue.

The contract between you and Alan Kerr is paramount.
It matters not a jot on who forgot to fit what to whatever.
You have a contract in English law that the goods you bought are fit for purpose.
If anyone in the supply chain at Roller team supplied the factory with a part that was incomplete, faulty or not fit then its the Company that supplied you with the whatever, (in this case a motorhome) to repair or replace that malfunctioning part.

I understand that. You would always go through the dealer (even sadly when they are useless - as I found in my experience). In turn I would expect the dealer to get recompense from Roller team or Thetford) I was referring to this....

I did not understand why it wouldn't both be Thetfords responsibility in the end as the baffle is part of the fridge.

suavecarve subsequent explanation seems to make sense.

Having spent 12 months trying to get my dealer/Thetford sort my fridge I understand the frustration of dealing with these different parts of the supply chain.
