Help sick of footie already

We are at one of our sons and he and Nick have watched 2 matches on the main TV plus I think 2 different ones on a laptop for contrast!

My Dad was sportsmad, in fact my Mum did once say “you do realise you’re marrying your Dad”!

It's all live on Prime , if you want Premier League, Sky for other leagues and BBC for highlights. I missed the first 20 minutes of the West Ham game, I closed my eyes just for 30 seconds and 45 minutes later opened them again.

As someone already said "who's house is it?" Just switch off the TV, simple. That is what I would do anyway 😀 🍷🍷

I would never dream of having the TV on with guests in the house

Unless it was planned to watch something.
People come to mine to see me.
I visit people to see them

If you want to watch telly go home :xrofl:

Who’s house is it.
John's, his house his telly and we knew Footie would feature. OP was really a bit tongue in cheek. We have chatted at half time 😉 and when eating despite footie being on now we are discussing motorbikes, insurance and motorhomes. son has my old doblo camper.
Younger grandson isn't feeling brilliant and is asleep elder is not a footie fan either and is on his phone.
We normally don't have the tv on when we have guests, and do dislike it when people ask us to visit then put the tv on, but they are all really big fans and at least we are all together.
We do sometimes play board games but finding something we all like is getting more difficult.

Don't start me on phones :xrofl:

Board games usually lead to an argument,

Not had telly on for 3-4 days. I think I'm one of the few that have never seen Gavin n Stacy 😱

Nanniemate I've not seen it either am not much of a tv viewer
We played logo with the younger ones yesterday, great for mixed ages. Have a few small quiz type games that may surface tomorrow, can hear the groans already 🤣

Our guests today arrived just before 3pm ,and brother in law was straight on his phone watching the football. He watched three matches, the phone was even on his lap while we ate our lunch. He’s always done it if he’s at ours on Boxing Day . I find it ignorant, even though I’m a football fan.
I could tell him to turn it off,but not worth the agg,and anyway, I had a good catchup with everyone else, especially my sister.

I think my telly would explode if it picked up my thoughts on football, can’t stand it, but don’t mind watching a little bit of rugby, with those chunky chaps.. :)
and if anyone comes here, the telly would instantly be off, height of rudeness to have the eejit box on when people are around..

of course, if sport is really your thing then you do as you choose, but it’s not for me..

I also have not seen Gavin and Stacy either, ever.
And our TV does not go on at all Christmas day or Boxing day as their is too much going on with family activities, and playing with the Grandapprentices.
Will probably switch it on at 6am today just to catch the news before heading off to work.

For many people Boxing Day sport is a big tradition , if it’s what you choose to do then that’s fine.
Some people go to the races I think. That’s even more strange to me than men watching football. I know women do as well but I think it’s still more men that really enjoy it.

Nick and Mike watched 4 in the end. I was very happy with my kindle, iPad and cooking. After our very stressful few days it was nice to relax!

Returning to Dorset tonight.
