Tour Guide Wanted Help needed!

Hi all, I have a folding Thule bicycle rack on my MH and don’t carry bikes. I am setting off to Spain next week( driving through France) and wonder if I will need a metal warning sign as there are no bikes on the rack?

I think only Italy insists on a metal sign. A plastic one should suffice

Why not remove it ?? then you do not need a sign at all
