Hi there,

The main downlight bulb has gone and for the life of me I cant find a replacement bulb..

It's circular with the 4 pins tilted upwards slightly.

It's got an outer diameter of 13.7cm and an inner diameter of about 11.2cm

I've searched high and low for one but no luck.

Many thanks

Try an electrical wholesaler such as city electrical etc.
I would expect any replacement now to be LED but fluorescents are still available.

Google image search is always worth trying!
In this case it comes up with:

which is super expensive!
There are also ebay sellers but I'm outta time, use google image search and do some trawling.
Also try searching for makeup mirror lights as that's what they're also used for.

Ideally you'd replace with a LED light but not sure how easy that would be.

If it were mine I would be picking up the 12V input and running a strip of leds round inside the fitting the ribbon types are quite flexible, just keep well away from the flurorescent output which will be high voltage

The fitting will have a very basic inverter to power a florescent tube.
To fit an LED will need the inverter removing/bypassing to power a 12v LED.

Needed an 18" T8 fluro tube for an under counter fitting for a friend. I went to City Electrical and they had one remaining and the guy said they had been "banned" from last September, but were allowed to sell off remaining stock ?

Yep... That why I said I would expect LED now.
