Just become the owner of a 2013 possl 2win on Citroen jumper 2.2
Was checking everything out and can’t get the fridge to work on gas!
I’ve checked that I’ve got gas
I’ve checked it’s switched to gas, hold in the gas button,
Press the igniter and nothing happens, (put a new battery in) it works fine on 240V
Any help appreciated

Ours won't ignite unless the van is level, you can hear the gas ignite initially then it goes out, once the van is level it ignites straight away and stays lit. It's an old fridge circa 2003

Depending upon the degree of slope and at a guess it could be that due to the slope the flame isn't close enough to the thermocouple which keeps the gas flow valve open.
Neither the OP's pilot flame nor the burner light up at all.

I know some fridges are like that but we, who do not use levellers, have never had a problem in 11 years.

Me neither, but I can't think of any likely reason why the flame wouldn't stay alight on a slope. I was thinking that if the flame was already poorly aligned with the thermocouple a slope could make sufficient difference to allow the thermocouple to cool enough to cut off the gas.

Can you hear it clicking? Most likely cause is the burner is full of rust or the jet is blocked look on you tube for how to remove parts via the bottom vent
Whilst I am all in favour of sorting out the majority of problems with most things to do with my motorhome I don't feel it's very wise advice to give someone with limited knowledge of fault finding and interfering with the gas jet and burner etc, whilst following youtube "instructions" if working on a fas appliance such as a fridge with very limited knowledge the outcome could be Catastrophic. Just sayin....

As I’ve only owned this for 2 days.....the p.o. said they tested the fridge on 240V and gas before I picked it up.
It’s not my first motorhome with a Dometic fridge and I have the manual too!
If the seller assured you that it WAS working on GAS, If the seller is not to far from you take the van to him and ask him to demonstrate it working on gas to you and show you his magic formula for lighting it, some dealers/sellers will tick off an inspection sheet even when some appliances are not functioning correctly,
I have found this personally. Just a thought.

Couldn't see whether you bought privately or from a dealer. If none of the above work, particularly the manual ignition holding the button down, you have a problem that;s going to cost something. If you bought from a dealer get it back there and if you bought it privately with an assurance the fridge was working on gas you could suggest they might like to pay to get it fixed. Good luck.

As said above I would not fiddle with gas appliances, we were nearly gassed by carbon monoxide due to a Spiders nest blocking the exhaust flue.

Try cleaning the electic connectors to the igniter it worked for me

Well thanks for all the advice, I was a mechatronics tech in a previous life so have a rough understanding of investigating faults 😐
Don’t have my glamorous assistant to myself until Monday. I think it’s the igniter as the old battery has leaked and it’s not clicking. I will update soon 😎

Fridge now working, battery inside the igniter had leaked and corroded the negative terminal, cleaned this up with a Q tip and some alcohol, new battery inserted and fridge is working 👍😁
