The problems is I now can't get her into first gear??? Omg!

All that work done on warranty n now I CAN'T DRIVE IT AT ALL!!

My strapping 6.6ft son in law cant do it either, a few of his male friends can't either !,

So we are now stuck with Dollie, in a driveway unable to move it. Deskership now washing their hands of it, as they said theve contractably done all repairs, n their driver drove it up from Somerset, albeit, driver said it was very stiff now in 1st n 2nd.

Stiff is an understatement, mmmm!!!! no one can get it into 1st, so I'm stuck with a MH I'm.un able to use?

Jaws if yr out there, can u suggest what I do? I can't get my money back, dealership says its drivable but nO ONE Can get her into 1st gear position. 😤 I'm demented with worry now???

Thanks guys, I'm hoping someone comes up with a loosening mechanism so we can get the mechanical forks to be more line-up?
Anything really please I'm.hoping someone out there can help, this is my life's savings n Dream of traveling around the uk in my retirement
Thanks guy sweet caroline ❤

Haven't tried that, but early is, if we dlow down or had to stop at traffic lights, n it won't work the worry of traffic etc around me makes
If you need to move it try putting it in 1st gear then start the engine can. be driven like that but not easy.
Sadly if I then stop at traffic lights, n itvwont go back onto 1st, then the worry of traffic around me piling up would be incomprehensible for me at present
Is reverse gear over to the left past 1st and 2nd? If it is then hold it over to the left agenst the reverse stop then lift the reverse pull up on the gear lever and move the it over just a bit and see if it will go into 1st/ 2nd gear, if it will it needs ajusting on the cables.

Dealer hasn’t repaired it! It’s not drivable. I suggest you go back to them to tell them the error of their ways.
If they do not repair it,go to trading standards or a local solicitor.
If none of the above work for you, you’ll just have to take it to a local garage where they have true mechanics and engineers, and not just idiots that fit parts(badly)

You don’t have to use 1st to get it moving. Use 2nd. Not great for the clutch but drive it back to the dealer and tell them them to fix it toot sweet or you want your money back. Do you have legal cover on your insurance or home insurance. Give them a call see if they can help

I've an invoice statingva new gear box was installed plus clutch last week. Sadly can't get her into 1/2nd since it was repaired
Do you have legal cover on your house or Motorhome insurance? Did you pay by credit card? Give the card company a call and say work done and does not work.

Sadly van won't move in 2nd gear, n I've a 380 mile drive back to Somerset to dealer, as a 66 year old woman I just would be too worried to go that journey honey.

Wellnif I could drive it to garage I would! But Dollie won't be budged anywhere. 2nd is very stiff n she stalls taking off too, we've tried everything possible. But sadly the Driver drove her all the miles up to Me ,with telling me 1 n2nd r stiff not unusable!

If it will go into 1st when not running then probably clutch drag, try pumping the clutch pedal a few times and see if it will go in then.

there is some adjustment on the clutch and the gear linkage may not have been reconnected right

Another thought is, have you checked the clutch/brake fluid level? it may have leaked at the master cylinder when they put the clutch in. It is a combined master cylinder. Top half is brakes and clutch below. If the garage that changed the fluid did it wrong, the clutch fluid does not get replaced. Found that on my van and that confused a fiat professional garage for a few weeks

You need to go back to whoever did the work last week, it's clearly not been carried out correctly.
Their responsibility

The dealer is in Somerset and Dollie in Bury St Edmunds, it can't be driven. The dealer will argue that it got there ok must be something else, well he would.
Trading Standards may help.
Could be as simple as selector cables/rods not adjusted properly, do the other gears select ok?
I wish you the best of luck and hope it has not put you off your dream of exploring the country.

Ok il try that when I returned from Wales next Thursday. But Driver insisted straight to floor, up back into neutral then 2nd,as its too difficult straight down. But never got that far yo do that sadly. I've a video, but this site won't allow me to upload as it's 2 mins long mmm
