I have been reading about the timing belt. Is the recommendation to change it regardless what the seller says? Has anyone changed the timing belt in Spain? Any idea of the costs? Thanking you in advance for your help. Regards. Mou

Thank you. I will2010 model should now be on its second belt change in 2020. Every 5 years is the Fiat recommendation.
So if its not done and no proof, I would personally get it done and maybe look at a discount off the seller.
Thank you. I will. They have not come back to me yet. I am due to collect it in 1 or 2 weeks time and then, I will get it changed. Depending what they say and proof provided.A straw poll would suggest that the vast majority of Dealers (well reputable ones) would change the belt on changeover because they can't guarantee when or if the belt has been changed before.
The cost implications of repair/replacing an engine should the belt go 'Ping' make it a no brainer, but, of course, they're not charging themselves £100 an hour to do the job, Its just wages plus the parts (which they get at trade).
I am new at this. I didn't know I had to subscribe, which I just didMou

Hi. Thank you ever so much. I asked them to send me the bills of what was done. They indicated to me that the cam belt and water pump was done. Service and maintenance only 3000 km ago. They had it for a year and have done very little mileage. The ITV is in June 2021. I have already contacted my own garage to see what the cost is. He charges 30E an hour. I will know more this evening.Hi & welcome. You will usually find that a garage will be the best bet assuming they can get it in ,to do the work as many motorhome dealers here just farm it out & add a bit.
Peugeot main dealer hourly rate here is under 40€ so Fiat wouldn't be much different. independents aren't much cheaper . If you can't ascertain what has been done in the past then get the whole lot changed. Tensioner, idlers, belt, water pump.etc.
Hi Phil. I used to live in Colchester/Essex, down the road from you.Welcome to the house of fun, from sunny Suffolk.

I'm no mechanic or expert but I've heard "belt snaps - potential BIG REPAIR BILL".Tonka,. Never even thought about this expense for owning a motor home.
How do you know when it's about to go?
