Well it's about a year since this thread was started and I see no real consensus among members so I thought I'd wind it up a little and add some scientific contribution.
I just popped indoors for a snack to keep me going - didn't really know what I fancied - opened the larder door and there on the shelf were some baked beans - not just the usual Heinz but a tin of Branston too!
So - let's get this sorted once and for all.
2 slices of bread into the toaster.
2 tubs of beans into the dinger.
Missus dished them up so I didn't know which was which - cleared my plate and can conclusively say that I still couldn't tell the difference. Both sloppy, watery, tasteless and bland.
I'm definitely going to stick to my dwindling stock of Carrefour/Auchan Cassoulet.
