Ive been reading up on the A class Hymer I’ve read a few times now that replacing the head lamp glass should it explode or break by stones flying up would cost around £1400 to replace. Would you be able to claim on insurance?

Is this the case for all A Class Hymer?

Went to see a couple of Hymer son Redditch (Motorhome Depot? to me they looked over priced pretty dirty and worn looking.

Has anyone had any problems with Laminate-x causing cracking to the headlamp? I have been considering fitting but read some threads online relating to laminate-x fitted to car headlights where it appears to have caused cracking.

I ordered ours from the US thinking that was a better deal then got stung by £20 import tax. I do remember when I measured up being surprised how big a sheet I needed to ensure it covered all the lense, though I can't remember the measurements.

I've seen that, but I think they are all plastic headlights that are affected.

i would agree with @kaasbroodje. Ours is a 2006 model with individual headlights and no problems yet in 6 years of ownership. And to put costs in perspective, our previous van 2008 Chausson Allegro 96, had to have a new headlamp (internal condensation) after two years from new - cost £550, and a new skylight (wind caught and sprained it when we were camped on the North York Moors and foolishly left it part open whilst out walking) for almost exactly the same amount.
We all have a moan from time to time, but I bet none of us would jack it in and holiday in hotels.
