Heading from Bilbao to Southern Spain? (1 Viewer)

Some will know the route - I've just done it.
Works for those driving the West coast through France.
Head to Burgos then the A1 to Madrid then on to Valencia - dual carriageway all the way, no tolls, fantastic scenery.
Anyone driving South leave it until later in the day to avoid getting the sun straight in your face.
Driving the other way leave early

I was doing the trip in reverse - from Valencia...

From Burgos headed to Bilbao to catch the ferry and decided to go to Villadiego, just North West of Burgos to the free aire there (very good by the way).

From there to Bilbao it took me as long as the Valencia to Burgos stretch!

Very picturesque but hilly and so many hairpin bends - I'll take the main road to Burgos if I take that route again
