2022 - I'm a newbie
Hi, has anyone visited Mont St Michel with a motorhome? I'm planning a family trip for the end of summer and would love to hear any tips or recommendations from those who have been there before. Specifically, I'm wondering about parking options, shuttle bus services, and any other must-see sights or activities apart from t eh Monastery on the island. Thank you in advance for your help! Also, would it be considered a family resort?

If you have a good lens then Arromanches aire (just up in the adjacent gardens) will give a great view in the early morning if there is a low sea mist. I ought to add that it would be good with a setting sun as well

We motorbiked in from there and as per all the other comments about it being a toursit trap that has to be done once so that you know it is exactly that.
On a par with Carcasonne for us. Ticked off never to return
MSM is, for us, a magical place. But it does depend on what time you go. Basically, go early and leave early. Probably before midday. Same for St Malo, actually.

The motorhome parking area is good, and you can decided to walk or take the bus. The walk is longer than it looks! The bus service starts about half seven.

New , well a while ago car park is great for MH . You can utilise kennels for pets if you do not want to leave them in MH . They are very good. Shuttle bus or walk to the mount about a 30 - 40 min walk , or a horse and cart not sure of cost . Personally I enjoyed the walk , beer and snack plus look over the mount , enjoy, enjoy.

We stayed in Beauvoir at the aire and travelled in July.
It was very hot and humid at the time and was packed silly with tourists, but glad we went.
If you are taking your bikes, you can cycle along the cycle path by the river to the shuttle bus terminal where you leave your bikes and then take the shuttle bus along the causeway to the island. Or you can walk.View attachment 741290View attachment 741291View attachment 741292

What was that someone said about a photograph being worth a thousand words....

Went last year. Stayed at Aire Du Beauvoir and cycled to the start of the Causeway. Walked in the rest. When we got to the entrance there were hundreds of bikes locked up inside the first gate. Nowhere left for our e-bikes even if we had cycled in. No bikes allowed outside. either. Shuttle buses were a waste of time, so busy they took half an hour to arrive and it was quicker to walk back to the bikes. Re-charged the bikes overnight on the hook-up on the Aire and were on our way next morning to off-gid at a free Aire at Plévenon.
