If on Android and you see a prompt to install it, you can do so. It will then behave just like any other app on your phone, it will notify you about stuff, you'll always be logged in etc. This is not an App like you get at the App Store even though it behaves just like one. This is what's known as a PWA a (progressive web app). Essentially the app is our website wrapped in an invisible app wrapper, there is no browser, it feels just like an app you bought from the store. It's really fast and has other benefits. Did you know Twitter and Pinterest are PWA's?
One company though does not like PWA's Anyone guess which one? Yes you were right, Apple don't like PWA's because you can get them without going to their store which means they don't get their 30% cut
You can still use our PWA on Apple machines but not with a safari browser. I am using the app now on my Mac. I installed it using the Chrome browser, then dragged it from the Chrome apps area to my dock, there it is showing me I have 24 unread PMs
It's not essential to use it, and we make our site work really well in any browser, so its pretty much unnecessary for most But if you fancy it as an app on your phone, and want to give the app a go, feel free
