Has anyone else found the new tunnel site almost impossible.

As we live close tend to use shuttle out and Irish Ferries back. Best ferry price and still do it the proper way with decent food etc. Not like P&O slave labour shite.
Irish ferries were the 1st to sack all staff and take on cheap labour.

I booked on the website today and agree that it is awful. But still miles better than the app, which was completely unusable! At least it is if you want to book a return trip over more than 2 calendar months.

Been looking at getting a crossing in July but you can't just choose the day that's cheapest ,you have got to state a day and it then comes up with various prices dependent on the day chosen then if you try to move the date a day it has a fit and moves a week then it's past your return and you have to start all over again.
Almost impossible to find a cheap crossing like you used to with the old one.
At first just go along with it, once done, then you can change it for what you want

Eurotunnel use dynamic pricing, adjusting their ticket prices according to demand, seasonality, and crossing time. So the cheapest fares will generally be in low season, mid week and un-sociable hours.. ie midnight - 6am
"Dynamic Pricing" that must be the new terminology for "Rip-off pricing" the prices for using the tunnel have spiralled the past few years, I stopped using them for that reason a few years back it's Newhaven Dieppe for me.....just sayin

Afraid we are the same now, we have used our last X 3 tokens on a trip in September and December, then I think that will be it.
The price just keeps going up and up , it seems ok till you actually get to the crossing you want.
I love the tunnel and hate ferry's but when you are looking at twice as much or even more it's getting rediculas and the Tesco tokens going down just finished it for us.

We tried Newhaven Dieppe overnight last week, not for us as soon as you are asleep they wake you at 0430. Nothing wrong with the ferry etc will just use the daytime crossing infuture. And 60 this year so 20% off.

Spring 2024
Newhaven-Dieppe:

£182 out 17:00 on 22.07.24 and back on 18:30 on 27.07.24
£209 out 17:00 on 27.08.24 and back 23.59 on 10.09.24 (arriving 05:00. Ugh!!)

The above as single passenger with a 6 metre van booked in April.

I had to book by phone to get senior's discount but watched the prices climb online over the weekend before booking on the Monday. That is dynamic pricing for you!!

To my mind there are really only two options - Book very early or last minute. That has been my approach with RyanAir and Easyjet for years.

At 79 years of age I am just happy to still be able to tour ...price of crossing doesn't enter my head...Saving £50 isn't going to change my life and never mind what people tell you ..
It's not possible to take your money with you when you die..BUSBY 😄😄

Lots but slow learner.
Nice to do the last 200Ks on the autobahn to Hanover.
Got the machine up to 186Ks at one point but had to ease up cause traffic.
Great doing over 100mph on public roads legally.
Tomorrow Warsaw.

Used to do that trip to Hanover Fair from1998 for about 5 years running in a GR Supra, used to get up to 150 Mph, what I liked about driving in Germany on the Autobahns was the fact that over drivers would move over for you, they would see you coming and normally would start moving over about 1/2 mile before you get there.

I did not think that the GR Supra came on the market until 2019 ?

Five years plus three tugging
£50 more like £150 or even more.

Try towing a little trailer.

We have a 7m MH and a 1.8m trailer. Going over is ... £467

Coming back at the end of Aug is ...
.
.
.
.
.
.

£5 9 9 . 0 0

I have written to Eurotunnel and asked why do they not charge by the metre? A trailer - any size - nearly doubles the cost.
