Has anyone bought an electric moped for their van?

I have been thinking about an electric one for about 18 months..
Cannot find anything at a sensible price with the same performance as a 125
Plenty of 50cc equivalents most with pathetic range to boot
One or two 125 equivalents but 2,5 to 3 times the price of a gas powered one and again, really pathetic range

Ianto is that a twistgrip operated ebike or pedal assist?
Currently pedal assist. I have bought the throttle to plug in. However. It then is not a pedal assist bicycle. Bit of grey area. It flies along on pedal assist and you can hold green button to start off.

On reflection, i was definitely a little hasty, it will not fit on the bed, far too heavy at 95kg. The Knaap is only 25kg, a genuine 2-seater as well, so should be manageable. The range of the Scorpion not good either.
I would not like anything of those weights in the back of my van unless I had a substantial system of restraint..BUSBY.

I, but we half the time, have done about 400 miles so far on the Silence SO1. As a biker, I wanted a run around that could keep up with normal traffic and that felt more like a bigger bike. It delivers. Very usable with acceleration to get away from traffic in or out of town when needed, and a limited top speed just over 60mph so not to to be a nuisance on an A road or dual carriageway.
With its new top box, and big under-seat storage, its also proving ideal for nipping into Bristol or Bath for shopping (we live between them).
Hi Peppadog - how are you getting on with the Silence S01 having had it for a while now? Is the battery holding up as expected? What sort of real world range are you achieving & how is that impacted by seasonal temps? Do you have any problems or concerns having lived with it for an extended period? I‘m quite curious about these particular electric scooters for local errands etc.

Very well RowleyBirkinQC. Its over a year old now and Is used, weather permitting, from home as well as carried on the rack of the MH. Real world range is about 60 miles if a few 60mph runs on a dual carriage way are included.
Realty is, it more often gets charged once a week or so after any number of short journeys. Range anxiety is not really an issue as the dash displays remaining charge percentage plus how many miles still to travel.

edit. One of its biggest advantages over a petrol scooter is the underseat storage. It holds two full face helmets, so you have somewhere to hide them on arrival, say, town, then somewhere to put your shopping to take home once you‘ve put them on etc.

Thanks for your reply, good to hear the scooter is still working well for you over a year into ownership.
