i am what could be called a tool tart:D
if i walk into a tool van or tool shop i cannot leave without buying something if i need it or not, spent ten's of 000's but never told the wife what they cost:xlaugh:

I bought "Halfords Professional" as a retirement present for myself 6y ago. The 1/4inch ratchet drive has been repaired twice and replaced twice BUT the lifetime guarantee "does not apply to moving parts", so it has been done as a "gesture of goodwill".

Back in 1976 I worked in Zambia. We had a simple system.... you sign my requisition for a socket set and I'll sign yours. I still have it.

I left Zambia in May 1976, and left with a " peoples republic of china" socket set, [ via requisition] and still have it. Worked in Chingola open pit.

I only asked about a socket set why is everyone talking in codes?

I still have some Britool sockets and a ratchet that I bought when I first started work, still working fine, also a Norwigian steel Kongskilde adjustable wrench bought at the same time, I've now been retired 4 years!
