Halfords mobile battery fitting service

not if you are not in their service they won't. And if you have a >3.5t van, they will likely not let you join the club (at least directly). What relevance the weight has to a battery, or to say a key, or many things is irrelevant.
I think it's the size that counts (of course 🤪) when we took out breakdown with AA we had to be under a certain length, I assume it's due to pick up trucks required should they need to transport you

Nah, weight is the key factor. There are plenty of >3.5t vans smaller in dimensions than sub 3.5t vans.
I bought a 4.6t minibus based on a VW LT46 LWB. the 3.5t LWB van was identical in length and the same height and width bar the rear wheel flares to accomodate dual wheels.

My own motorhome would have been covered by a standard policy. now I upped the GVW by 350Kg, it is no longer repairable as far as the RAC and AA are concerned if I were to call up and quote that policy. Not made it any bigger, have I, just heavier potentially.

Why these companies don't allow owners of >3.5t motorhomes to join but restrict to a Home Start and Roadside Assistance, but no Recovery option I don't really know.

Oh right, when we rung AA to swap our vehicle, they just asked for length
