Guess the Year

And if you’re a really good boy I’ll let you play with my boobies later! (y)

Glancing through the above, to which I can unfortunately add nothing of great (or any) value, I'm prompted to wonder yet again why some people choose to use invented forum names rather than their actual names.

It's obviously a popular path & I don't want to sound critical of those who follow it, but I just wonder why?? It's not like we're arranging clandestine extra-marital affairs, are we?

When I first joined the forum I used my own name, I was advised to change it for privacy reasons. Not everyone on forums are nice people and it doesn’t take them long to work out who and where you are.

Something I've often wondered about, I've never had a problem using my name, some of the chosen web names are truly bizzare, but can understand some using childhood nicknames, or some derivative of thier names.

I’ve never had a nickname and have no imagination so when I joined in a bit of a rush when we needed some advice I just used my name. Even failed to start my name with a capital letter. My headmistress will be turning in her grave.

I think some of the names are fun. It is Motorhomefun after all.

Others maybe over cautious,, but I would rather that nowhere on social media that we are away from home added to the fact that my surname is rare. Add surname to County or Town, and it would be a walk in the park to get our address. However, even some here with the surname Smith used a forum name.

And that before you look at family or other difficulties where privacy is essential. When we started with Fun we had two children at home both under court orders where nothing could be published, that identified them, us or our whereabouts for the safety of the children. It was essential that we were not trackable. There are many other reasons I am sure.

You’ll never know because you use your given name 😉😂😂

I was going to use Big Boy or Donkey but I’m not qualified to 😂😂

stuartholmes. We are what it says on the tin Stuart, but if you wanted to know our surname, you'd have to look at another tin............especially popular in Scotland. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Must be Smith!

Or Shortbread. That's the most tinned Scottish thing I can think of.

Or Salmon. Jock & Rita Salmon?

🙂
