Guess my MPG Competition

Over 20mpg, reacon we got close to 20 out of our 6.5tD Trek, so modern engine would not be surprised.

Guessin 21.6mpg
Adrian

What a guess :) Send me your name and address and I'll send you a couple of our new exterior Funster stickers (y)

Won't be happy till I've confirmed it again, but its an amazing MPG better than many large Europeans when towing :)

Many thanks

Might be a bit if a shock to many that RVs are not the guzzlers that people think they are...

12.9 mpg

As a by the by, the poxy little 2.4 diesel in ours managed a staggering 14.9 MPG on the way to Zahora.. It really did not like towing the smartie !!!!!

Amazing that the 6l ford would out MPG your Fiat, maybe the toad is just a bit too much for her.

It will be interesting to see what we get when we are just touring and not towing. A fraction more I hope but doubt it will much, she really does not notice the trailer. Certainly hope to better some of the big Euro MH

nonsense Jim, its an RV you need to calculate it as gallons per mile :p

Not sure you will make much if any difference to the MPG, towing, full fluid tanks, gas, diesel and water seems to make little difference to speed or economy.

We easily out MPG most Range Rovers towing a large caravan and get close to some large euro MoHo

Was told by a mate that the MAN powered Concorde across the road from him with a 9 litre engine does 8mpg! Gasp! I based my reply on this but have to say my initial guess for the Concorde was about 20mpg.

Is that US or GB miles per gallon?

That is good! My 6.3ltr Dodge was doing about 9mpg, this was a run of mostly motorway at 55mph and I'm running it in so not flooring it. I'm hoping to better now the carb is rebuilt, just need a tune.

My calculations were based on uk gallons. 4.54609 litres The actual miles are the same the world over aren't they?

Never mind all that, I sent my stamped addressed envelope for a funster sticker this morning. That will be enough of a prize for me. If I have to guess I suspect you got close to 20mpg.

We reckoned about 12 MPG-----if it was a Cummins Dodge it would (of course) been better !!!!;););)
It's too early for us to be sure, but, we reckon to get no more out of our mini (2.8) Iveco than out of our obscenely powerfull 5.9 Cummins Ram. We returned 21.7 on our Scandinavian trip.
A small motor flogging it's nuts off is never going to beat a powerfull bigger motor running easy.

8mpg sounds about right.....and its possibly around 9 to 11tons
my 6.8ltr petrol returns around 10mpg on petrol (8mpg on lpg)....and diesel is far more economical at those engine sizes.

15.1 mpg

Looking at that Beast at Newark, it certainly looked thirsty. 9.8mpg :-(,

I was told to expect a very good return from this engine. Its famous for two things. Blowing head gaskets and an amazing MPG figure

My first calculation 20.82 miles to the gallon.
Just checking my spreadsheet now it was actually 332 miles and that cost me just 72.5 litres. :)

That's better than our VW Caravelle! :)

We returned 21.7 on our Scandinavian trip.

So 21.7 out of the Cummins! a mile better than the Powerstroke. Well done. Hard to believe that in certain circumstances a 6L is more economical than a 3L

20.7 mpg
