Rally Chat Grouse and Claret New Year 2018/19

Jude, please say up yours to those that have are using big words to complain about your post.

Let them use their obviously superior brains to arrange rallies, meets, gatherings to their hearts content. I wouldn't want to attend though. I am more than happy joining you . Have had some lovely times thanks to you, especially New Year 2016 and Liverpool this year.

Anne

Ran one over last week(a grouse, not a jar of marmite), lovely for lunch and yes I did take grouse and marmite sandwiches to work the following day, very nice.
A Benefit of living high up on the moors.

A tip, spread the marmite very thinly so you still get the grouse taste.

Anyone else like grouse with marmite?
I'm very jealous. I have to make do with roadkill pheasant here in Devon. :)

(y) Thanks Anne, must be a quiet night on telly !

We are already booked elsewhere but @Neilfg provided the link to the last meet. It was posted in 2015. :)

:D I know it's early but ..............Next Year
Would there be any interest in this ............

http://www.grouseclaretpub.co.uk/

has it's own campsite of 29 pitches all hardstanding +ehu. £20 per night .
Marstons, food very good, near to retail shopping outlet, Chatsworth, Matlock etc.
also has New Year 3 course meal +disco @ £25 per head. :party2:

Thoughts please

This might help folk understand what this is about. :)

THIS THREAD IS TITLED 2018. THE QUOTE ABOVE QUITE CLEARLY SAYS NEXT YEAR !!!!!!
The information referred to is page 3 of Rallies and Meets. re:- the rally that was held then.
If you read it you will understand that it was a Meet not a Rally .
That is all the info I have at present. !!
I am sorry if you took offence Jude, but I was really not trying to upset you or be "clever". I did look back across the last 100 posts or so in the Rallies forum for this using the heading that you used in the title but could not find anything. I did not even know that the title was the name of a pub. I tried my best, but I had never heard of this pub or where it was or that that a meet had taken place there at the end of last year.

I used the word "rally" because it was in the Rally Chat forum. I am not sure that I really know what the difference is between a Rally and a Meet so I suspect I have probably made that mistake many times in the past.

And finally I did find the dates confusing. The new year period in 2018 could be a description of the beginning of the year or the end of the year. I was hoping it was for the beginning of the year, but now I know it's not. At the moment we are planning to be visiting our daughter over Xmas and New Year in 2018 so we will probably not be able to attend. But thanks anyway for the heads up.

Thank you Peter but no offence taken. I just thought it would be easier for people to go back and read the previous year's' thread as I don't have any new information as yet and the link only provides out of date info. (but thanks to those who took the trouble to find it).

Morning Jude - I have to say I found it confusing too and yes, I've also read through the old posts. People were just asking for info as they were interested.

There are quite a few folks who are looking for somewhere to spend New Years Eve/New Years Day this year and I think that's what you are referring to?

For anyone who doesn't know, the Grouse & Claret is a pub near the edge of the Chatsworth estate in Derbyshire which has it's own campsite.

I know you don't want the hassle of organising a full blown rallly but not everyone is aware of the difference as Peter said (me included at times):)

So For what its worth.....I think the pub are putting on a new year eve 'do' this year and there will be pitches available which have to be booked direct with the pub. So no dates as such as it's up to you how long you stay:) and no cost yet as the pub doesn't seem to have decided.

Thanks @Debs but you have it wrong, it is for 2018/19.
The campsite is already full for this year and have been for some while !

My bad then Judith - but thanks for the clarification(y)

Thanks @Debs for the clarification, I've found this the most confusing thread. I got quite excited at thought of eating grouse and drinking claret, I also like marmite and cheese.

Must be honest I assumed the title Grouse and Claret referred to the 12th of August and the shooting season. As most of us seem slightly happy, me included, the direction this thread was taking seemed about as controlled as a shot grouse completing his last flight.
As the Meet appears to be for December 2018 into January 2019 I would be interested if you'll have me after this post.

I understand that but isn't that The Glorious 12th?
