Further on from our original post regarding trip to Greece later this year, we have now received confirmation of prices and bookings for camping on board Greek ferries, we will be travelling from…Bari Italy to Igoumenitsa Greece and returning from Patras Greece to Bari Italy , if anyone fancies joining us on the adventure please send me your email either by messenger or text it to my mobile…07531122375

There’s always one ….good way to filter out the ones you wouldn’t want on the rally … mubob great place to tour ….you’ve got this to look forward to . Not sure when you are going but the International Jazz Festival starts on Oct 3rd in Kardymyli …Fantastic.

We were accidently in Kardymyli in October 2021, not knowing about the Jazz Festival. We wild parked in a dry river bed near the beach and then heard a jazz band strike up at a bar 100m away. Great evening!

We are booked Ancona-Patras first week September so might try fit the Jazz Festival into our tour.

We were accidently in Kardymyli in October 2021, not knowing about the Jazz Festival. We wild parked in a dry river bed near the beach and then heard a jazz band strike up at a bar 100m away. Great evening!

We are booked Ancona-Patras first week September so might try fit the Jazz Festival into our tour.

I know the dry river bed well…next time you go drive a bit further along and there’s nicer bits on the same beach….almost to the end of the road..there’s water just along the road at the back of the little dusty football pitch on the way down…

October 21 ….was that the actual Festival…it was cancelled in the middle of the COVID stuff….I think this will be the first full blown Festival since COVID when musicians and people come in from all over the world. Not sure….actually think they had a small one sometime but not at the usual time. Perhaps they did sneak one in in 2021….you would certainly know the difference. Lovely place Kardymyli. Here’s the spot we were in. Might see you this year….

Making me jealous now….talked to Viamare about camping on board the other day….very tight. Two Minoan ferries have discontinued… although they weren’t camping on board it has put pressure on ANEK….may have missed the boat already. Might have to go via the Balkans. Haven’t done that yet ….might be interesting.

I have just been speaking to ViaMare who are the experts on Greek ferry bookings and they are telling me that space for MHs is very tight, especially if you want 'Camping on deck'.

We just got our return Patras-Ancona for late Oct but had to accept 3 days earlier than planned.

So unless your party have their own bookings sorted, or you have block bookings, or people are willing to drive down through the Balkans, then you better get onto reservations PDQ.

Are you going to campsite or wildcamp? Many campsites close mid-Sept.

The Bari route is easier because it is a much longer drive in Italy so not so popular, but a bit cheaper.

You did well there…..as it’s very full as someone said…might have been me. I did Bari Igoumenitsa 9 hours going out…got an outside place with a breeze and sea view. Coming back in August did Patras Anconna….much longer 24hours or something and shoved in middle of deck…very hot and sticky.

You can’t choose which position on deck you have so its pot luck….or you could choose to ignore the staff waving you to a particular channel and swerve across to the outside…not sure how that would go down…explain it was an age thing

The actual Greek trip is 5 weeks, add to that the length of time you want to take to get to Bari and again the amount of time you want to travel back to Calais
