Gosh!

Loads of problems?
Very poor bodge on shower tray, Camper UK had seen damage when they took van in as trade in, shower that leaked out of washroom onto carpet, not sure where from, leaking water pump(fixed under warranty) and then after first heavy rain opened blinds to find water on all window frames on left side, puddle on bottom and the drips on top of frame( I suspect frame to body sealant) when I mentioned this salesman said surprised it didn’t show up when they pressure washed it, soon back peddled when I said you shouldn’t pressure wash a Motorhome.
We were lucky because the layout didn’t work for us, large table and shower in washroom giving little space.

I’ve seen quite a few carthagos that have leaked badly and I remember speaking to one chap who had a leaking front roof join and he said it was a really complicated system they used(As opposed to others with a single join/sealing strip) and that he had to take it back to the factory to repair it.

That wouldn’t have been cheap!

Re: Cathargo.
We bought with our hearts not with our heads, it was never meant to be for us, far too up-market!
We went from an old Hymer with masses of free space and a massive washroom with a shower that had space, we had been with it for 14 years so the Cathargo was a step too far!
The Cathargo was a lovely van, well built, warm and comfortable but the lack of room in the washroom was unacceptable and there was no space in the ‘sitting area’ a good van for those that holiday but not for our lifestyle!
When we saw the Frankia it immediately felt right, free space, no table interfering with sitting on the seats and a separate shower & loo which can be completely shut off from the main van creating a dressing room.
We also thought that twin single beds would be good but they are a bit antisocial, so now we are back to a double (it’s huge as well) drop-down bed, electrically operated.

Some might say the frankia is more upmarket than a Carthago!!
Anyhow, hope you enjoy the Frankia, I’ve always liked the 740 plus with the lounge at the rear, then again I also would like a Carthago liner for two on the Iveco chassis!!
Then again I’m more than happy with my present van which is just as well as I can’t afford owt else🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
