Good reason to up plate

Is that an actual fact that you know?
VWE are currently having an issue with DVLA which they hope to resolve shortly.

I wont be uprating until October at the earliest and Dee is bunging me an email when ready to rock and roll which I will update on here (but I only read emails every few days on holiday)

In the same boat! What tyres did you up spec to? My Chausson is at 4000kg

I've just completed the up plate with SvTech on a Ford Transit chassis. I already had Dunlop rear suspension and Falken 121/119R tyres fitted. Now up plated to 4,100kg overall from 3,500kg. 2,430kg on the rear and 1,850 on the front, but with a 4,100kg overall limit.
Absolutely more than what I require, but it puts a stop to DVSA shenanigans (adding on weight for passengers not present etc, etc, see previous posts) if pulled over for a weight check.

In my case, DVLA took about 2-3 weeks to process the paperwork and to issue a new V5C. The tax refund came in yesterday.

Just off at a slight tangent.
I read in this thread that the more powerful engines have heavier duty wheels and tyres.
Are there any implications for engine remaps, e.g. from 130 bhp to 150 bhp?

I think you'd hardly notice an extra 20bhp in 3.5 ton plus vehicle. You might find it easier to spin the front wheels on slippy surfaces.
