Lots now
Hi everyone I never ask for donations but I am now.

My friends son was travelling in his T5 VW and is now missing, I've known this lad since he was 7 we are all very worried. Please follow the link to go fund for extra help with regard to helicopter searchs and local media.
Thank you

Sorry but I'm mystified

If a Swiss person went missing in UK, an appeal would go out locally initially, then more widespread after that.
Police, mountain rescue, divers would be involved, social media etc.

But as far as I'm aware, nobody would be asking for payment for publicity ?

Am I missing something
It costs to have this extra service of his photo posted in petrol stations, shopping malls etc etc.

What a nightmare situation for family & friends. I hope the chap is found safe.

They should be ashamed of themselves, making a quick buck out of someones disappearance

I hope he just met a Swiss lass and got distracted

Hope he’s found but would it not be best practice to use a tracker in any van when overseas just in case of theft or cases like the above.

The van isn't lost, the young man is. The family found the van and (I understand) were staying in it while the first lot of searches were taking place. As someone who had a family member go missing in their van I have a very tiny understanding of how agonising this is for the family. I fear a poor outcome, but I wish for all their sakes that they do find out what has happened.

Unfortunately it's bad news about the young man lost in the alps. This is from his brothers Facebook page.

I am so sorry.

Are financial contributions still needed towards other costs? I didn't see the appeal first time round.

As bad as this news is, at least they can put him/it to rest now and try hard to come to terms.

god bless em

Sad outcome indeed....mountains are not hostile environments, but accidents can happen to anyone..being prepared and being aware are vital requirements for everyone.... especially for those who travel alone.
Seeking adventure is not foolhardy but sometimes can catch you out....very sad for his family and loved ones...
