Maybe he's just enjoying the Swiss Alps and turned his phone off ?
Is there any particular reason for concern ?

I can’t see any mention of even finding the VW, could be anywhere surely 🤔

family and friends must be frantic, what was his last known location, campsite or? and what were his forward plans?

remember how awful it was when a young lady who was a member here went missing, sadly found dead after a massive and long search, hope that won't be the case here..

Maybe it’s there but I couldn’t see it but where was the last known location ?

Planned route ?

Expected activities ?

Any way I can help just let me know.

PS for the Rega search (helicopter) you’re probably looking at 5-8k for a simple sweep on one fuel tank (2 crew). What about travel insurance ?

How can anyone help if they don't know who they are looking out for? Even the reg of the camper is blacked out. If it was my son missing I would have a photo, description and details of the vehicle etc etc circulated. 🤷

Sorry - just not enough information here to make a contribution. Quite why the family wish to remain anonymous whilst at the same time hoping to collect money from strangers just rings alarm bells. Surely full disclosure is the best way to help find this person?

If the op wasn't a respected member on here you would think this has every hallmark of a scam.

May I just say thank you if you donate.
The missing lads brother who is in charge of the fund is as honest as they come.

The area is Grindelwald, so its the eiger trail. The van was on the campsite and his family have used it for the last few days. It was unlocked.
I'm just awaiting his picture that the family want me to use.
It's not looking good but we can only hope.

Sorry but I'm mystified

If a Swiss person went missing in UK, an appeal would go out locally initially, then more widespread after that.
Police, mountain rescue, divers would be involved, social media etc.

But as far as I'm aware, nobody would be asking for payment for publicity ?

Am I missing something
