since 2006 ( I think ! )

Single cylinder 650 TWIN ?
Typical MCN twaddle
I do really like the look of the bike though
Shame it does not have a separate gear box and is water cooled, but they do have the basic look right..
They have somehow managed to keep the spirit of the bike there............ I would not mind one in the stable thats for sure
Wonder what it weighs ?

Oh that takes me back a bit, the only motorbike I had stolen and i had a few back in the day

a DBD34 with RRT2 box

absolutely superb bike, I wish I still had it now

Saw a new Bonniville last year at Rye the guy had it a month and said he had an original back in the day and the new one had the same oil leaks😊

That should “curry” favour with the retro crowd. Looks good.

I had a B31 350cc back in the day.

" Any old iron, any old iron, any any any old iron ", they were leaky, wheezey, Friday afternoon electrical nightmares in the 60s. Having them built on Indian subcontinent is unlikely to improve their reliability, or longevity.
Rose tinted glasses seems to have erode all the bad points but retained those long ago weekend "ton up" ride out's until the inevitable happened, time to start pushing.
Original ones now command a small fortune, and off road ones even more so.
The shame was we really were streets ahead on innovation back in the thirties, water cooled two strokes, power-valves, and plenty of other forward thinking ideas. Jeff Smiths, 500cc off road competition BSA was so light due to all the titanium it was constructed from it needed two final drive chains in the air box ;) to make it heavy enough to meet the minimum weight requirement, and it also had disc brakes!!
Then it all went pear shaped, take your pick for the why.
There was at one point a different motorcycle manufacturer in the UK for virtually every letter of the alphabet !!, how times change.
Mike.

Indian manufacture. Reckon they will sell as do Royal Enfields that are highly rated.

I also had the dbd34, rrt2 and 190 front brake, the brake was so good you could operate and stop with one finger, not quite the same, but, I’ve now got the yammy 1200 v4 Vmax, amazing the difference in both bhp and torque

"What we can tell you for now is that the new engine features liquid-cooling, a four-valve head with twin overhead camshafts and twin balancers to smooth vibration. The tubular cradle frame also has an authentic look, with wire wheels, conventional forks and twin shock rear suspension."

It says it's a single with a 4-valve head so I would have expected twin exhausts. Close enough to 60's styling to get a few oldies who want a lighter bike buying one.

They must be purchased by some very forgiving buyers, unless it's built in nostalgia :giggle:

Many vehicle manufacturers have recalls. So far I have had one from Volvo, BMW bike and Triumph bike. I know owners of REs that really rate them.

I spent 18 months modifying the ECUs on all the grey imports that were restricted..

Closest I ever got to owning one was when I took one in as a PX.... but I already had it sold so apart from a brief check out ride I never used it and it moved straight on
I did run a B33 with a chair on it for about a year

I was asked to take apart a "fully reconditioned" one for somebody once as it had lost all drive. An inspection of the clutch basket revealed it had been involved in a previous self grenade incident, and the technician in India had painstakingly welded all the shrapnel bits back together to form the clutch basket again, not a pretty sight. I had to call the owner to bring his van back again, it was beyond economic repair.
Each to their own, I loved the 2 stroke air cooled pocket rockets that came out in my yoof, Suzuki GTs. 250/500/550/750. So fast they had to start restricting power output.

I have a GT 380 smoker 😄😄

My only connection with a BSA was in the army. We had B40 350 singles. Road testing one after servicing it in Germany the front wheel hit the tram tracks and I was off. I could have sworn I heard the bell on a tram as I hit the cobbles.
A nice policeman picked me up and watched the traffic until I got the bike off the tracks. They disappeared in the seventies to be replaced by something called a Canam I think but I had nothing to do with bikes after the BSA .

I did various mods to mine to make it safer, but one mod was to change the ecu to a “dyna 3000”, makes such a difference worth the money 💰

I think they’ve got the styling bang on for a modern retro, including the engine, it should sell well if like Royal Enfield it’s priced lower than competitors.
