Going to view a MH tomorrow.... beginners advice

You have to remember Fiat is Italian, Peugeot is French..... There's the reason for the low roofline/windscreen, they are shortarses.

Frenchman Bonaparte was only 5ft 2in
Italian Musillini was 5ft 6in

They would have had no trouble.
But there is always an upside to this.(y) having to duck down to see out the windscreen combined with the overcab means identification of who the driver might be is difficult at best .:)To ensure it you flip down the sun visor:sneaky:

living in Cornwall & wanting a rear lounge layout led me down the PVC route.

If you live on a bus route or have your bins collected an A class isn't an issue.
Rear lounges available in an A class as well :)

Can't see a coach built will be any better - my Swift on a Ducato certainly wasn't which is why I specified the low seat boxes on my WildAx PVC.

Somebody will come along and be able to tell you about changing the seats. They are only 4 bolts to remove the seat, so presumably you can change the seat to a lower one.

Obvious question, you manouvred the seats around. Slide forward back, lower the seat, less air in the cushion etc ?

Cant see how the leisure batteries would stop you lowering the seat as the mechanism is that size unless you moved location of batteries.

If you dont get any joy try asking in the "build your own motorhome section" some clever people in there

Being a freak of nature and hoping to fit in a PVC just isnt going to work!
...
Coachbuild/A Class would fit me better

Before writing off PVCs, see if you can find a van where the seatbelts are part of the seat (not on the B pillar) - these are supplied when swivelling seats are specified from the factory (ISRI seats) and are 'normal' height, even though they swivel. (You do lose the space underneath - maybe enough room for a packet of sandwiches!)

Sportscraft, FASP and CTA after market swivels add 25, 32 & 37mm respectively to the seat height (when I was looking last year). Aftermarket seat boxes are available (simple bolt in) that lower the seat height by 40mm, but your batteries would probably have to move in the van you looked at.

You will probably be in the same boat in a coach built as the seats and windscreen will be the same as a van.

If you are going for a rear lounge PVC then do you really need both cab seats to swivel? If not then just remove it from the driver's seat and you should gain the extra space you need.

Camborne... anywhere near you?

I’m over at carharrack, your welcome to pop over at the weekend and have a nosey at my Ducato based hymer and for any info you can glean from me, I’m getting it ready to go to Spain for 5-6wks on Wednesday so it would be a good time to see what you need...

I sit at 6”2 and don’t find it a problem in the class .....

Pm me for my address if you want to pop over anytime...(y)

Thanks for all the help and suggestions everyone. Loving this forum already!
It’s definitely given me food for thought for thought and needs more research with the seating options. As has been said it’s got to be right or I know I’ll regret it later down the line.....my OCD would kick in anyway!

Have sent you a pm Smiffy thanks
