Going to Benidorm. Can I get Uk tv

Yes.. Standard 85cm dish .. but no BBC or ITV channels .. Only a big selection of Sky channels

We found that, for instance, Alibi was not available, but Alibi +1 was fine
We found that on many of the channels

If you want to get those then really a 1.2mtre dish is about the smallest you can get away with
The bigger camp site have tv hook up which do deliver the ITV and BBC progs to you

Be aware that Vilasol is a bit old fashioned though and are still on analogue, so if your TV only gets digi you aint gonna get a lot from the TV posts
My 85CM dish picked up ITV, BBC1 & 2, Channel 4 & 5 John, you just need an Intelsat 901 reciever

The Spanish government relies on the income Benidorm generates from us brits. Come brexit if they are fewer peeps travelling due to the confused rules etc the Spanish govt will have to put up taxes to compensate.

If it puts off people who want to watch UK TV at Benidorm - triffic.

If it really matters to you, unless you hook into some other system you will, since the broadcasts were moved to a different satellite, need a 125cm dish.

As they say about any mind-numbing dope - just say No.

with my Oyster 85cm dish via my sky box I can pick up most channels in south east Spain, but strangely a stronger reception on the plus channels, perhaps some one will explain why.

We went into Benidorm for one day ,that was enough, although it has a lovely beach, the beer swilling, mouthy, intoxicated holiday makers etc. make me wonder why people want holiday there !! but, if that's your thing I wish a nice holiday, not our cup of tea and our Roadpro Dome would not pick up a signal, we knew that the unit was not big enough etc.

You'd better not go to any FUN meets then.

Nothing wrong with FUN meets , about Benidorm is just a opinion, just spent 8 weeks in Spain met others Funsters , they were not all in Benidorm. We had a good time, and, before we went we had good advice about winter holidaying in Spain from Funsters, thanks again to all those Members.

I think you will find a lot of motorhomes treat it as a base to explore up & down the coast something you can't do in a day maybe you should have stayed a bit longer?

I used a firestick and the free site WiFi. I use a VPN to get the Uk channels

One day is not a fair representation of Benidorm. If you go down to the front of levante beach there are places as you describe, but that's a particular area of Beni, a few hundred meters along the front and its a different place, nice quiet Spanish bars, shops, restaurants etc.
You should have explored more and seen the different side of Beni, your loss I'm afraid.

Not to mention Last Call Finestrat Albir Altea & a bit inland Jalon valley & Guadalest to mention a few in the vicinity of Benidorm sorry you missed the good bits

We know Benidorm very well went twice years ago , stayed at the Cimbel Hotel on seafront, mostly a hotel for Spanish at that time, but very nice Hotel .
Second time we stayed at the Hotel Nadel in the levante area on the seafront,Lovely hotel we thought Reception like new met an English guest next morning she said "we were here 2 years ago" , You Know When ETTA blew it up !! no wonder the reception was pristine, 3rd day water or some liquid came doen bathroom wall from above , up came young man to fix it, he remved ceiling tile placed Icecream carton perched on top of support , put back tile , I said what happens when it's full? no answer , so I think I know Benidorm , I think it was slightly different then , but , perhaps it's my age, but as the Receptionist said in Albir The Dutch and the Germans come to Albir and Altea the British go to Benidorm !!

I have been going to Beni for over 25 years & admit it has changed a lot in that time you were lucky to get the ceiling fixed they would have probably charged you in a hotel in England but like I say Beni is a base for most funsters & Sheddy organises walks & trips around for funsters so they have a very good social scene happy travels Rod

Different satellites, different beams, different frequencies, different polarisations....
Not all channels are on the same so reception will differ...
