Our van is a black PVC, nobody waves, they think we are a prison van
I always try to wave. Seems harmless and friendly to me. I usually speak to others when we stop too.I,m usually pretty good at acknowledging other motorhomers, but last Thursday on the A31 I was distracted so neglected, this caused the oncoming gentleman(other words are available) to give me the finger. I just wonder how he felt this added anything to the comaderie of the motorhoming community.
If in a car do you wave to other care owners?I’m a biker and always as knowkedge other bikers on the road. A nod, hand in air or headlight flash so also wave at other motorhomes.
The boss is a miserable git and doesn’t
Nah to many miserable gits driving cars.If in a car do you wave to other care owners?
Some….you mean them all. What makes me chuckle is some that you wave at, ignore you when you arrive at a site.

Indeed. I have a tash and beard but I don't acknowledge others similarly encrusted........... whether male or female. Why wave because you have a motorhome i have a volvo and dont wave at other volvos.
Ha ha yep they do that. Great many Germans up here in the north east off the ferry and that’s their greeting. What? No leg out on the continent……
Living the life. They are just jealousWhen I mention "MH FUN"....oh that bunch of of miserable old gits....
World is full of sad miserable gits though. Just remember we aren’t in that groupFunny this. May daily drive is a 110 Defender. 95% of Defender drivers wave/flash etc. Only exception are farmers.
Now, been motorhoming for a few months now, and I find that most people don't bother. I try, but it's a bit sad when you're totally ignored. I don't remember it being like this when I last motorhomed 16 years ago.
Cheers.
Are you sure he was actually giving you the finger as we've noticed abroad especially that many just raise a single digit from the steering wheel when 'waving' ...I,m usually pretty good at acknowledging other motorhomers, but last Thursday on the A31 I was distracted so neglected, this caused the oncoming gentleman(other words are available) to give me the finger. I just wonder how he felt this added anything to the comaderie of the motorhoming community.
……who said that………???Nobody waves at me in my stealth camper. And that's how I like it.
There are parts of the A31 where you need to concentrate on the road not on looking at the occupants of other vehicles. If he made time to wave, check that you had not returned his wave and then make another gesture then his eyes were off the road for far too long. Waving should come second to road safety.I,m usually pretty good at acknowledging other motorhomers, but last Thursday on the A31 I was distracted so neglected, this caused the oncoming gentleman(other words are available) to give me the finger. I can confirm this Only get waves from coaches now days.I think you are pretty safe in a big A class as nobody ever waves to us, well possibly the odd/confused coach driver
Leg out is a thank you to other drivers which may have pulled over to let you pass. Greetings is the left hand out, usually very close to theirs, coming the other way. What? No leg out on the continent……
Nope no mistaking the gesture a stiffly extended digit, just thought it rude and unnecessaryAre you sure he was actually giving you the finger as we've noticed abroad especially that many just raise a single digit from the steering wheel when 'waving' ...
Get the reg number and send him the gift of an anger management course. What ever is going on in his head isn’t good and you just have to feel sorry for himI,m usually pretty good at acknowledging other motorhomers, but last Thursday on the A31 I was distracted so neglected, this caused the oncoming gentleman(other words are available) to give me the finger.
