Hello Funsters. We‘re enjoying our second trip in our 2007 Hymer van 572, and it’s getting a tad parky tonight. But we can’t work out how to get the heating going. The owners manual might as well be in Latin on this topic! I’ve got hot water by turning the Trumatic C EH dial (the left hand one) to double electric setting and turning the Trumatic C (the right hand one) to 60 degrees. I then turned up what is presumably the thermostat on the right hand dial to max (9) and sat here hopefully, but after an hour nothing is happening. Any suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong will be hugely appreciated - bbrrrrr!

Deep joy!! Gas on, fan blowing, lovely hot air blasting out everywhere. So I guess it’s the electric element that’s up the creek, yes? thank you all once again 😊🥳
!
There are two 900W electric elements, that are used for both heating water and heating the motorhome. Given that you have got hot water by just using electricity, at least one element should be working. But, as others have said, heating on electricity only is feeble when compared with gas and it will be even more feeble if you have only got one 900W element working. Best to get the motorhome warm by using both gas and electrics and go from there.

Your system is slightly different to my older Hymer, I don't have the lefthand dial in the photo it seems That what you gave selected is the higher water temperature I.e 60deg. What you need to select for gas heating is the flame below the middle (off) position which is warm air heating on gas only down to the very bottom position is warm air and 60deg. Hot water 💧. Hope this makes some sense.
